A Stunning Hudson‑side Park in the Heart of Tarrytown
Pierson Park is a beautifully designed waterfront gem overlooking the Hudson River. I visited last spring, and it blew me away—from the scenic river views and sunset skies to the wide lawns perfect for picnics or relaxing.
What I Loved: • Riverside Walks: The paved path along the river is fantastic—perfect for strolls or bike rides. You get incredible views of the Tappan Zee/Cuomo Bridge and even the NYC skyline on clear days. • Fun for All Ages: A splash pad and playground for kids, basketball, tennis, and bocce courts for everyone, plus open lawns for catch or sunbathing. • Clean & Well‑Maintained: Grounds are tidy, paths are clean, and facilities look cared for.
Friendly Tips: • Parking Info: Make sure to park in visitor Lots C or D (metered most of the week). It’s easy to stray into residential-only or sticker-only areas. • Evening Vibes: Sunset here is magical—the bridge glows, folks fish or picnic, and the atmosphere is so relaxing. Just a few people mentioned occasional weed smoke...
Read moreI've been coming here since I was 5 years old with my mother and sister. I still recall this park before the condos, playground, and recreation pavilion were built. Back then it had 2 play areas, a tennis court, and picnic area (still there). They have improved greatly, they get busier as the weather gets nicer. You can come to walk, run, bring the kids or spend time to yourself. For those that don't do crowds, you can still enjoy the scenery from your car, EVERY spot in the lot overlooks the Cuomo Bridge and beautiful landscape. They have indoor bathrooms for your convenienceas opposed to other parks that have portapotties. Please take care of the restrooms because they recreation dept will shut them down and put portables if they are abused (trust me I've seen it) the staff work very to hard maintain this property so please. Tarrytown PD patrols the property regularly so it is very safe for seniors and families. You can easily spend hours here, it's...
Read morePierson Park was an absolutely beautiful place to walk, do a light jog, ride a bike, make memories with your kids or grandkids, duck watch or simply bask in the sun while looking out at the beautiful river. I was equally impressed with the residents who were friendly, personable, and inclusive.
My family and friends were there to bring the kids to see the light house and visit the park. We were a little disheartened with our visit after receiving a hefty parking ticket. We didn't read the signs well enough as we drove in, probably because we were too excited while visiting our niece there at college.
We will pay more attention to parking fees if we ever decide to visit again as the fee out a damper on our trip to the Bronx. But this shouldn't deter anyone from visiting...
