To the DeCicco & Sons Management Team,
I make a point of stopping at your store for one reason, the Fire Roasted Pastrami Navel. It is the only place in Westchester where customers can find this cut, and it absolutely deserves to stay on your menu.
Unlike the typical cold cut pastrami that is pre-cooked, pressed, and sliced paper thin, navel pastrami starts with the richer, more marbled end of the brisket. The extra intramuscular fat keeps the meat moist while it cures in a blend of salt, sugar, and aromatics. After curing, a generous spice rub seals in the flavor, then the meat is slow smoked and finished in a gentle roast or steam. This lengthy process melts the collagen, leaving each slice unbelievably tender while the spice bark delivers that signature peppery snap. It is the same method that made Katz’s famous in New York City, and you have replicated it with real care.
Your kitchen is equipped to handle the full slow roast cycle, something no other market in the county offers. That capability turns a simple deli purchase into a destination product. Each time I serve these thick, juicy slices at home, friends ask where they can buy them. I proudly point them to DeCicco & Sons.
Please keep this pastrami in regular rotation. It sets your prepared foods apart, draws repeat visits, and showcases the craft that makes your store special. I would hate to see such an outstanding item disappear.
Thank you for giving Westchester a taste that rivals the best delis in the city. I look forward to picking up...
Read moreOn the morning of 05/08/2025 at 9:20 AM, I called the Deli department to place a very basic order a ham and cheese on a roll with lettuce, tomato, mayo, and ketchup. I arrived at 9:40 AM 20 minutes later fully expecting that to be more than enough time for such a simple sandwich to be prepared. Unfortunately, it wasn’t even started until I showed up. Only then did the staff begin scrambling to put it together.
To make matters worse, I specifically asked for the sandwich to be pressed and heated, both on the phone and again in person. Somehow, that basic instruction was ignored, and I was still handed a cold sandwich. I’m honestly baffled at how difficult it is for the staff to follow such straightforward directions.
When I inquired, I was told the manager wasn’t there, as if that justifies the complete lack of organization and awareness from the entire deli team. A missing manager should not result in the entire department functioning like no one knows what they’re doing.
Because of this disorganized mess, I ended up late for work and with no time to eat, a complete waste of my time, caused by a team that couldn’t handle a single, simple sandwich order in 20 minutes.
This is unacceptable. If the deli cannot operate properly without a manager present, then that’s a serious management issue that needs to be addressed immediately. I expect better from an establishment that...
Read moreI really like DeCicco & Sons in Sleepy Hollow — the place has a great vibe, and the bar and staff are excellent. The drink descriptions are always spot on, the team is super friendly, and it’s such a nice spot to unwind after shopping or meet up with friends. Plus, the displays of Sleepy Hollow movie costumes around the bar are an awesome touch and make the atmosphere even more unique.
That said, there’s one thing that really brings the experience down. On multiple occasions, kids have been allowed to run around unsupervised, creating a clear hazard for themselves, customers, and staff. It’s not just distracting — at times, it actually feels unsafe. I’ve seen children sitting in walkways and screaming so loudly that I could barely hear my friends sitting right across from me.
What’s worse is that when staff try to address it, some parents get defensive or rude, ignoring safety concerns, and management doesn’t seem to back up their team. It’s a shame because the place itself is great and the bar staff do an amazing job, but the lack of control over this situation makes it hard to fully enjoy the experience. Hopefully, management takes this more seriously soon, because with just a bit more support for their employees and attention to creating a safe, relaxed environment, this spot could be...
