I am not one to write reviews like this, but after our experience I feel it is necessary to warn other diners. A group of us arrived for dinner at 6:30 PM and notified our server that we were attending the Blaze, approx. 20 minute drive away, and we needed to leave around 8. After placing our order at 6:45, we sat and waited, and waited, and after asking multiple people and being reassured that our food was coming, we were then notified by another server that we ordered “late” as our food ticket was put in at 7:23. Shocking, seeing as the area we were in was not crowded and we were told multiple times that our food was coming. 15-20 minutes later, our food arrived, but most of it was cold and everything was incorrect. Those who ordered veggie burgers received cold patties and fries, sides of broccoli tasted strange and fishy, a flatbread was completely burnt on the bottom and inedible, a regular beef burger with bacon came out as a veggie burger with avocado, and one dish never even arrived. In addition, we had ordered salads which we were told would come out fast, and they did not come until AFTER our cold, incorrect, nonexistent entrees. After asking to speak to a manager, the owner Chris arrived. He drove over to apologize, but ended up blaming us for showing up late, telling us that we had no idea how long it takes to get up to the Blaze even though we are from the area, and that we should be grateful for him driving over to speak to us personally. Chris was incredibly rude and was a poor representative of a restaurant that has been in business for 40 years. It is sad to say that we do not plan to return to Bridgeview Tavern, but after such an abysmal experience it is impossible for us to give the restaurant...
Read moreFood was ok. A selection of game meat burgers and entrees, and some unique spins on appetizers, but it's on the pricey side. Place is trying to be both quaint and homey, but upscale at the same time. The disco fries with the wild boar chili were pretty good, but the chicken sandwich I got was kinda dry and overdone. The toppings seemed to be the focus, but like, bacon jam, and spicy cole slaw only go so far when the chicken cutlet was like eating a Birkenstock. Service was fine, staff was attentive. Beer selection was small, but everything we tried was great.
The atmosphere was probably really great before gentrification just absolutely decimated the view. Yes, you can see the bridge over the river, but in either direction, what would be a nice view of the river but widespread luxury condo development destroyed any type of view that was worth anything. Deco in the restaurant was old tavern, with lantern lights everywhere, and a bunch of classic rock memorabilia everywhere. Cool I guess.
Idk, the prices and quality just didn't quite jive for me. Nothing was really egregious, but dropping over a hundred bucks on mediocre pub food, while in the midst of watching billions of dollars of real estate drive up prices of everything even further just rubbed me the wrong way.
Honestly, nothing was terrible, but nothing would also...
Read moreBridge View Tavern continues to deliver bold flavors and warm hospitality. On this visit, two standout dishes made the experience memorable:
Shrimp Po' Boy - Perfectly fried shrimp tucked into fresh-baked wedge bread, layered with spicy Creole remoulade, crisp lettuce, juicy tomatoes, and tangy bread & butter pickles. It's a Southern classic with a gourmet twist--crunchy, creamy, and packed with flavor.
Mussels Special Steamed in a fragrant coconut milk broth with lemongrass, ginger, and garlic. The broth was light yet deeply aromatic, and the mussels were plump and tender. A spoon and some crusty bread are a must--you won't want to leave a drop behind.
Service: Jennie was absolutely amazing--friendly, attentive, and genuinely enthusiastic about the menu. Her recommendations were spot-on and her energy elevated the whole experience.
Vibe: Rustic tavern meets craft beer haven. Whether you're inside or out in the beer garden, the atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. Great for casual dinners, date nights, or weekend hangouts.
Final Take: Bridge View Tavern nails the balance between comfort food and culinary creativity. With dishes like these and service like Jennie's, it's no wonder this place is a...
