I LOVED this shop! I used to shop at A Time For Karma for all my incense, crystal necklaces, earrings, bracelets, statues, gifts for family members and even brought friends to the shop, but after the experience I had in February of ‘23 I will never return. I went and when I walked in, there were between 4-6 people behind the register and one was a manager that I had seen before in the store. Usually I am greeted when I walk in, but on this occasion I was not. Everyone behind the counter looked at me but said nothing. I continued around the store and no one asked if I needed anything. After about being in the store for no more than 2 minutes, a couple walks in and is greeted and asked if they needed help, they even had someone show them around the store, walking past me without asking if I needed assistance. I thought that maybe I was overthinking the situation as I am always asked if I need help, so I decided to walk over to the register where there were still a few employees sitting, and pretended I was looking for/needed help looking for something and not one person looked up at me, but the other couple was still being helped. I left because I did not feel like o should give the store any money but decided to go back in because I really wanted incense. I walked back in and a girl at the register said “welcome back” which I thought was funny because she didn’t even acknowledge me in the shop the first time. So I purchased my product and left and shall not return. This situation was the last straw for me as a time before I went in to have a necklace fixed and the manager (the same one that was behind the register) gave a vibe that I was trying to steal the Tourmaline rock that broke from my necklace. When I gave it to her she started asking when I bought it, if I have the receipt and didn’t seem like she wanted to give me my stone back, so I took it from her and told her to forget it, but she told me to wait and she’ll ask if they can fix it. Another woman came out and she had no problem. She recognized the stone and fixed it for me and even gave me the string for it for free. A Time for Karma was the cutest crystal shop near my house and I would drive 20-30 minutes each time, but never again. You all need to do better, it’s 2023 and I being a Black woman should not have different treatment to that of the...
Read moreI had the best experience at this store. I was brought by my cousin who shares my love of crystals and cannot believe I haven’t been here already! (Maybe the timing wasn’t right yet...lol)
It’s the type of place that intrigues you and pulls you right in. I went in with a short list of crystals I wanted but also an open mind. I didn’t want to spend more than $40 (husband) on crystals so I typically go for small purchases and am a frugal shopper. I picked up about 10 small crystals. One literally jumped out at me (had to take that one.) I walked around and tried to take everything in but there was so many interesting things I didn’t get to appreciate it all in just one visit. Before I went to the counter I felt like, “I’m missing something, I want one more thing.” At that moment a small child was ringing all the meditation bells (talk about a sign). Had been wanting a bell, got it and made my purchase.
My total was $39-perfect. This is a very reasonable price for the specific crystals I bought including tanzanite, Tibetan quartz, and black tourmaline (trust me I research everything.) I had a very nice conversation with the owner and she gave me a punch card to save on future purchases (she punched as if I spent $40 which was so nice.) I will now buy all my crystals here and probably some other stuff too! Definitely check this place out in person, you will...
Read moreLast week I visited this store in the morning as they had just opened. I walked in as the only customer in the store, there were 3 people behind the glass counter who didn't bother to look up and greet me, let alone ask if I needed any help. The employees were discussing weekend plans very loudly, without any regard of volume or professionalism. I was in the store for a total of 25 minutes looking around without any acknowledgement. Before I entered the store that morning I was reading reviews to see if the store would have what I was looking for. The reviews are flooded with people saying that the customer service is terrible, but mostly, lacking entirely. This, I then come to realize, is completely true. This is a store that most people would probably need guidance in, people come to this store looking for things that they may need for themselves or as gifts for others. If your staff can't find the importance in helping the people who walk in, there is no way it will survive. I walked in ready to purchase gifts, I walked out with nothing because I could not believe how terrible the service was. Its a shame because this is a unique store that offers a lot of great things, but after my experience I would rather travel further distances to get what I need than walk into this...
