A co-worker and I visited this store on January 5th around 4:30 pm. While I was looking to purchase a few laptops my co-worker bought 2 printers with gift cards. An employee named Nate initially told us that he should have them in stock and the store website says they had them in stock at that store. He went away in the back to check and then comes back out and informs us that they have none of the laptops we wanted. He said the store website was wrong. So we asked for other laptops of which he said he says none of those either without checking. We thought this was really strange so we asked about more laptops and then he said he has no laptops whatsoever. So then we mentioned we would also like to pick up some chairs and that’s where he admitted he doesn’t want to sell us anything because we looks sketchy/untrustworthy. More baffling, he then went on to accuse us of fraud because we used gift cards on the printers and mentioned he has the right to refuse service for any reason, of which in this case the reason was that we looked sketchy and suspects us of fraud. These accusations were done in public with other customers in the store and were very offensive and hurtful to say such things without even knowing us. Read moreI wished that I can give this store a zero star. Holding time on the phone is forever. The phone finally was picked up and the staff did not know how to handle a sales info. For two different occasions, these staff seemed just got hired and were on the job on the spot without any training. When I was in the store to buy a laptop yesterday, one of a daytime Managers did not want to sell it to me - she said not in stock. Continued shopping for this computer, two other Staples stores did not have this computer but told me that this store has it. Half an hour later, I ordered online for that same computer at a price of $20 more than the advertised price in sales fly (it should be the same) to check how true is the information I was told by the other stores. And, it was true. This computer was available for pickup in one hour at this store. The entire episode was repeated for the second time to see how "nasty" is this store. Again, a sales staff told me it's not in stock. I immediately ordered online. This computer was available for pickup in one hour. This whole experience is "horrible". That’s because they always provide such good products AND service. When I recently visited the Staples store in Henrietta, NY, I found all of the classroom supplies I needed for the start of this school year in just one visit. There was one item I had trouble finding - sticky tack for hanging posters. It was not in the aisle where I expected to find it. An associate saw me searching and asked if he could help, then took me right to the section of the store where it was shelved. At the cash register, another associate walked me through the new Easy Rewards program, and then helped me set it up in the app on my phone. He was truly kind and gave me his undivided attention.
