I recently had the pleasure of dining at Hyderabad Biryani House with a group of friends, and I must say, the experience was a delightful revelation compared to my previous takeaway orders. The difference in taste and quality when dining in was quite remarkable. Ambiance and Service: The moment we stepped in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a vibrant ambiance that set the tone for an enjoyable evening. The decor, with its traditional touches and modern comforts, created a cozy yet lively atmosphere. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable, enhancing our dining experience with their prompt service and friendly demeanor. The Culinary Journey: We embarked on a culinary journey, trying a variety of dishes that showcased the rich flavors and culinary expertise of Hyderabad Biryani House. - Mango Lassi: This refreshing drink was the perfect start to our meal. The lassi was thick, creamy, and had the right balance of sweetness and tanginess from the mangoes. It was a delightful palate cleanser that prepared us for the feast ahead. - Chicken 65: A classic appetizer, the Chicken 65 was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The spices were well-balanced, providing a burst of flavor with each bite. It was a crowd-pleaser and disappeared quickly from our table. - Mutton Chukka: This dish was a standout with its succulent pieces of mutton cooked to perfection. The rich, spicy gravy was infused with aromatic spices, making it a hearty and satisfying dish. The mutton was tender and flavorful, melting in the mouth with each bite. - Vijayawada Boneless Chicken Biryani: The biryani was a revelation. The boneless chicken pieces were marinated and cooked to perfection, blending seamlessly with the fragrant basmati rice. The spices were well-balanced, and the biryani had a delightful aroma that was simply irresistible. - Hyderabadi Mutton Dum Biryani: This dish was the highlight of our meal. The mutton was cooked on dum, allowing the flavors to meld beautifully. The rice was fluffy and aromatic, and the mutton was tender and juicy. Each mouthful was a symphony of flavors, making it a memorable dish. Overall Experience: Dining in at Hyderabad Biryani House was a fantastic experience. The quality of the food was significantly better than my previous takeaway experiences, and the ambiance and service added to the overall enjoyment. Each dish was a testament to the culinary prowess of the chefs, and the flavors were authentic and satisfying. I highly recommend dining in to fully appreciate the delicious offerings of Hyderabad Biryani House. It was a fun and memorable evening, and I look forward to my next visit.

4.5 stars. This restaurant had not opened when I was living in Rochester and I really wish it had. This is the only authentic biryani I've had there! We came here on a week night but had reservations. Good thing because it was quite full! While they call themselves biryani house, they have south Indian cuisine primarily, some north Indian curries and the Biryanis. We ordered the Kodi vepudu (chicken vepudu), the Hyderabadi dum goat and chicken biryanis. They take time to get the orders in, so it allows you to actually have a conversation with your group. The vepudu was very good but too oily. That is the reason I give them 4.5 stars. Everything about it other than that was amazing! Spicy, masaledar and well-cooked as far as the chicken goes. This is definitely a dish for spice lovers. The biryanis were excellent! We ordered a spice level of 6, which I (who LOVES spice and always goes for highest) actually thought was decently spicy!! I didn't need to add any raita to calm it down. My brother, who took a 7 on the goat biryani, thought that was a little more spicy than he liked, so may be that would be the perfect level for me. Both biryanis were delicious. The rice was nice and separate. The meat (both goat and chicken) was really cooked well and the spice and flavors had seeped through it all. Quantities were great. We shared a biryani between two people and still didn't finish it. All in all, really happy with this place and will visit when I come back to Rochester!

I tried out Hyderabad Biryani House today on the recommendation of a friend. I called ahead for a carry out order. I got the Hyderabad Chicken Dum Biryani and asked for it to be prepared spicy. The meal was ready to go when I got there. I paid, and got back on the road. The staff were friendly during our brief interaction. I cannot claim to be an expert on biryani as I did not grow up eating it. It is, however a dish that I am now quite fond of and one that, unfortunately I have not been able to enjoy in quite some time. That said, I was very happy with this dish. The portion size was nicely large and came with a side of raita and container of chili sauce. The rice was soft and fluffy, and not mushy. The chicken was well spiced and very tender. The hard boiled egg was a new variation for me, but it went well with the dish. Star anise pieces and green cardamom pods also played their part in making sure every bite was full of flavor. The chili gravy or sauce is what really kicked this this meal up a notch for me. I spooned just about the whole tub of it out over the biryani as I ate and really enjoyed being able to alternate between the heat and spice of the biryani to the coolness of the raita. I really enjoyed this meal and plan to come back in the future.

This place came highly recommended and I can see why, despite not having a great meal myself. I caught glimpses of exactly what I want in an Indian restaurant. Diverse menu. Lots of options. Indian people were dining there and enjoying it. All great signs of where I want to be.

We arrived a little after 5pm on a Saturday. Wasn't super busy, but there were a handful of tables full. We got seated and got starters and drinks ordered. I got my beer quickly, but the diet coke took a long time. Not a big deal, but it was foreshadowing.

Our starters came. Chili paneer was alright, but the aloo bajji was fantastic. Thin slices of potatoes fried in a chick pea batter. Really excellent texture. We ate and ordered dinner (Chicken Briyani and chicken dosa, some garlic naan, and another diet coke).

After probably 20 minutes, our food came out. My dosa was barely warm and borderline soggy, but the parts that were good were friggin good. The briyani came out and also was room temp. The rice itself was awesome, super flavorful. Just wasn't warm, let alone hot. No diet coke again. No naan either. Empty beer and water glasses on the table, begging for refills. The lone server was busy elsewhere. We end up eating most of our dinner before someone checked in, asking if I wanted another beer. I politely declined, but mentioned that we never got her soda or naan. He rushes away and comes right back with legit cold naan. This is after we are done eating. I ask for a check. It comes alongside the diet coke. We declined the soda, still got charged for the cold naan that arrived after we finished eating, and paid.

So, at the end of the day, my experience wasn't great. I'm going to give them another chance because the food that we had was good without it even being their best effort. Hoping that it was...

I had the unfortunate experience of dining at this restaurant recently and feel compelled to share my experience with fellow food enthusiasts. It was a visit defined by tardiness and tepidity, a far cry from the warm, timely service one would expect from a restaurant of any caliber.

From the outset, it was clear that punctuality was not a priority at this venue. Our food arrived egregiously late, well beyond the acceptable waiting time for a dining experience. It seemed as though the sands of time themselves had grown weary of counting the minutes. As the hunger pangs increased, so did our frustration. It was an exercise in patience that no restaurant-goer should be subjected to.

Yet, we held out hope that the quality of the food might redeem the evening. Sadly, this was not to be. When our dishes finally made their belated appearance, they were served cold. The disappointment was palpable. There is no excuse for serving cold food to customers who have waited an inordinate amount of time for their meal. It's a cardinal sin in the culinary world, and it seemed to us that this restaurant had no qualms about committing it.

The overall experience was incredibly disheartening. The lack of respect for customers’ time, coupled with the failure to serve food at the appropriate temperature, has left a bitter taste in our mouths - both literally and metaphorically. This establishment failed to meet the most basic requirements of a good dining experience.

I genuinely hope that the management of this restaurant takes this feedback to heart and rectifies the situation. Until then, I'd advise potential patrons to consider other options where their time and appetites will be treated with the respect...
