Ulta Beauty — Attraction in Town of Henrietta

I'm very disappointed with the customer service that I received yesterday at the Jefferson road location. I walked into the store where all sales associates were standing in the front of the store. I was barley greeted and no one asked me if i needed any help finding anything. I walked all the way back to the skincare section, where I was looking for a specific product. One of the workers at the salon finally acknowledged me after she finished her typing at the computer and could tell I was looking for something. She walked with me for a minute and then she found someone who knew about skincare. She passed me off to the sales associate siting, "she will be more helpful than I am, especially if you have other skin ISSUES going on." and left. I was left feeling like she didn't want to help me and uncomfortable assuming I had skin issues. When the skincare representative informed me they didn't carry the line I was looking for and realized I wasn't interested in the ONE alternative she offered, she just shrugged her shoulders at me. When I asked her if she could call Webster or Victor locations and see if they carried the line, she dismissed me with a hand gesture and told me, "they can help you at the front with that." When I made it to the cash register to ask for help, the associate was unprofessional and had a hard time controlling her laughter in regards to something that I assume was unrelated to my situation. She was able to confirm that the other store had the line but that was it. She didn't say anything else to me, offer any product suggestions, and just let me leave. Unfortunately, I had to walk by the rest of the sales associates that were still standing at the front of the store from when I had walked in 15 mins earlier. I was shocked at the lack of helpfulness and the snide comments made by multiple associates. Beyond disappointed and will never shop at this Ulta location again. Perhaps at Ulta...

The woman in the skin department was very helpful, super sweet and helped me pick out exactly what I needed! I've had many great experiences with the employees here who have been equally as nice and helpful. One of the managers, Lisa, I must say is consistently unprofessional and rude. If it weren't for the other helpful employees I would never come back. Last night a foreign man was asking for advice on where to find the nearest bus stop and she could not have cared less. She laughed and said "how would I know" then told him "walk towards the mall". When he asked where the mall is she simply pointed and said somewhere that way. He left very confused and obviously embarrassed. An older woman came to ask about prices on a hair product she was thinking of trying and the manager laughed in her face and said "we don't do discount pricing here". The older woman asked her about the same product she saw that wegmans carried and she simply responded "you shouldn't trust wegmans products, they're fake". Not only was the older woman confused but she ended up putting her items back because the manager was so unwelcoming. When I was checking out she spent 1/2 her time chatting with other employees on her headseat, again with the giggling, and calling them brats. Truthfully this is the closest ulta to me and some of the employees are awesome, but because of her constant lack of kindness/professionalism I doubt I'll be returning. I have a really hard time finding makeup and cleansers for my face. So.. when I first got to Ulta (today), it seemed like the staff had their hands full so I kinda wandered around glancing here and there at random stuff waiting for something to jump out at me and say "I'M THE ONE!" But to my dismay, it never happened. Everything changed when I approached a woman (Shantu) and asked for her help. I explained that my face gets sweaty, therefore, makeup gets clogged in my pores and I break out. So I'm looking for makeup that won't clog my pores and break my skin out. Shantu was the BEST makeup artist/ advisor that I've had help me so far! She ended up finding me the perfect makeup - Estee Lauder anddd she pointed out that I need to use oil free makeup (Estee Lauder Foundation), moisturizers (Bobbi Brown), and toners. I also got a skin corrector (Bobbi Brown Skin Corrector Stick - She said that I don't need much makeup so stippling a corrector would be just as good). Not to mention, how polite, professional, and knowledgeable she was. She has literally JUST WALKED in the building - coat still on- and put everything aside to help me.
