I’m only rating a two not because the food wasn’t amazing because it was not because the people weren’t friendly because they were. Here’s my issues as a previous manager of restaurants for 33 plus years what I just witnessed on this visit made me wonder if I’ll come back. Food safety certificates posted but not one and I mean not one person was following any kind of food safety rules. Gloves on yes, but drinking eating touches hats faces and eachother was taking place. They sang happy birthday to I believe Ethan and then they had cupcakes or something and one girl ( black with long braids) shoved a whole thing in her mouth bare hands never washed nothing just returned to what appears to be food prep. The red headed guy that presented the cupcakes or whatever it was gloves on took his hat off scratched his face then put back on tall black grill or cook guy same thing hat off with gloves hands scratches his forehead with rim of hat returned to prepping food. The taller white guy presenting food to customers gloves on had a drink held the straw with his gloves fingers and attempted to spot the girl with blue hair with whatever he was drinking continued to drink and oh yeah eat his Cookie right at the presenting counter. Not one time our entire time there did anyone stop to wash or sanitize their hands. A lot of eating drinking body touching and no glove changes. Older gentleman with black gloves on same thing touched the shoulder of the taller guy and continued to touch food. Not our first time here but certainly my first time observing non food safety practices. Kind of scary. Hoping you have cameras to see my concerns. Hubby was wanting me to tell what appeared to be the manager who was walking around greeting folks but I watched him cough in his hand as he pointed out things to a couple then again failed to wash. Just saying not a good feeling today. Terribly disappointed my visit costs me $63 and some change but far more saddens me that I may not...
Read moreWent here for lunch with my mother and we both enjoyed our meals. It was our first time going so we didn't know much of what to expect outside of what was on their website.
She ordered a two meat combo (brisket and pulled pork) with sides of bacon green beans/mac n cheese, and a single St Louis spare rib. I ordered the brisket meat market XXL combo, with two sides (mac n cheese & baked cheesy potatoes), and I got two each of baby back ribs and St Louis ribs. We also got 2 of the commemorative cups that you take home and they donate a portion of it to a Veterans charity.
All in all it was over $60. It struck us as a little high but we didn't overly mind. They initially forgot my cheesy baked potatoes, but a very kind and incredible waitress cleared everything up.
The real standouts were the ribs by far!! While the baby back ribs were more tender (melt in your mouth, fall off the bone tender!), I thought the St Louis spare ribs had a bit more flavor. All of the sides were very tasty and while they initially look small there's actually quite a bit there. The let-down of our order was the brisket. While it was in no way bad, it had a dryness and toughness to it that I haven't come across before. At the very end of last year I went down to Houston to visit a friend and had some real authentic Texas brisket, and compared to this it was night and day.
I would definitely come back here, and I will definitely...
