I witnessed a yound mid 20s employee make an elderly woman break down and start crying. Every time she tried to speak he would interrupt her and say the same thing over again "we have a 14 day policy". She couldn't even say anything, couldn't complete a single sentence. This happened about 15 to 20 times before she left crying.
Next, he called me up. I said "hey, you made that poor woman leave crying." He informed me that I "needed to mind my own business and be concerned only with what I was here to do". WOW! I told him that this was exactly the kind of interaction that made the lady cry.
He immediately said he would not help me, and that I could no longer return my spectrum equipment to the spectrum store and I needed to leave immediately. He grabbed the equipment I was trying to return and proceded to walk it toward the door.
I went outside and called the spectrum customer service number to file a complaint. While I was on the phone, the old lady returned, this time with her husband. He went into the store to ask what had happened and immediately came out. I told her I was calling to complain about the service we had received. Her husband said the employee had come out around the counter and had physically intimidated him by standing very close to him and that is why they were now leaving again. I asked the gentleman how old he was, and he said he was 75 years old.
What a terrible experience. We can all treat each other with dignity and respect, but instead, two elderly customers were treated without respect and physically intimidated into leaving the store. Myself, denied services because I commented on the shameful behavior.
I would highly recommend not doing business at...
Read moreMy experience at this store was HORRIBLE! We drove 35 miles to get to this store as it was the closest Spectrum office in our area, only to find a note on the locked door stating that they were closed from 1-3 pm for employee lunch breaks! Okay... So we found something to do and came back at 3 and we're told to sign in on the kiosk. We were number 6 on the screen. There were only 2 employees working and customers lined up at the door. The lady at the counter chose to spend 45 minutes with one customer going over channels. She even encouraged him to continue each time he was about ready to leave! FINALLY, as they were wrapping it up she wanted him to stay and give her a big hug! Seriously lady? The many people that had been standing in line were clearly as upset as we were, but little did they know we had been there a lot longer than them! Our total wait time in store? 2 hours and 10 minutes for a 5 minute swap cable box! When confronted, she informed me that there were only 2 employees as someone had called in sick and that I was "lucky" they had opened at all. I suggested that possibly she could have explained that to the gentleman ahead of 20 people that they were short staffed and gave him their 1 800 number. Total time for a 5 minute transaction 4 hours and 10 minutes! Unacceptable! * Remember the 2 hours closed time for the 2 employees lunch break* Ya. I never give bad reviews unless it's really bad! They don't deserve 1 star, but I couldn't...
Read moreI was at this store today just to return equipment, and the same thing happened to me that was mentioned in previous reviews. I had a box big enough to have to hold in both hands, and I stood in their entry way for at least 10 minutes with no acknowledgement at all. There was an African American gentleman typing away on some computer, while the only other person who worked there was trying to upset some older couple on probably everything that they didn't need. Apparently, you are supposed to sign in on a computer that is on a desk when you walk in. So the guy who was just typing on his computer the whole time, comes over and starts in on me about this being the system. So I said the system sucked. I've already been here for 20 minutes for something that should have taken less than 5. The guy replies with a well how else should we do it?. I gave it to him, said, here my name is on the box so all I need to do is drop it off. I told him I just had gotten done with work and that I wasn't waiting here for a hour. Guess what? Another employee shows up through a door in the wall and has the lady ahead of me, and my taken care of in about 6 minutes. Unacceptable. I hope that the guy who talked to me wasn't the supervisor because he needs a different job if he is. No, I don't want to contact anyone else, take better care of your LOYAL...
