Watch the prices and check expiration dates!!!! Pricing discrepancies were a major issue. Many items were marked at lower prices on the shelf but rang up higher at the register. Haribo candies were marked $1.69 but rang up $3.19, strawberry drink was marked $1.99 but rang up $2.99 etc. None of the prices were accidentally more expensive and rang up cheaper. When I pointed this out, the staff did not apologize ; instead, they blamed the person who stocked the items. I had to ask them repeatedly to walk with me so I could show them. Finally they went and just removed the sticker only on the one item even though there were multiple items that rang up wrong. When I expressed concern about it feeling predatory to consumers, I was met with dismissiveness—one staff member simply shrugged and laughed. To make matters worse, some of the food items I purchased tasted expired. Upon checking the expiration dates, I found that they were indeed past due (I only thought to take pictures of two items but others were expired) raising concerns about product freshness and quality control. Overall, the experience was enjoyable for the uniqueness of the items available (teens had fun discovering new things) and disappointing, both in terms of customer service and some food product integrity.

If you want a labubu for 5 times the price that’s been opened already, come right up to this store. I went in to purchase a labubu for my little sister who is absolutely obsessed with labubus. She’s been wanting a labubu since the trend started and I finally was able to find her one. However. Not only was this Labubu 85 dollars, but I got Home and come to find out this labubu has been opened, checked, and resealed. Let’s be honest. Yes I bought two labubus. But for 85 solid bucks, you would expect the curtesy of an unopened labubu. This store most definitely, as many resellers do, open the labubus and resell the secrets at an insane price. With all of this labubu craze in mind, even if I wanted to return or get a refund for my OPENED labubu, I wouldn’t be able to. Because of course they don’t offer returns or refunds on opened products. Honestly, do better.

SO cool and cute!! I was surprised to see not just character goods (of which there was a variety of options, not just sanrio but also sumikko gurashi, chiikawa, rilakuma, miffy, and other japanese characters) and snacks (which were incredibly tasty!) but also japanese makeup and self-care/hygiene products! I've never seen these anywhere else in america, it was very cool. I definitely need to return for the makeup and skincare!! The claw machines were fun too! There was also ADORABLE plushes. I love how they had japanese sanrio plushes and not just american sanrio ones! I loved the stationary too- Always a fan of japanese stationary. Overall, a must-visit store for anyone who likes japanese culture!

Eh.

It’s alright I suppose, this is certainly the most unique store in Towson, however there are quite a few things about this store worth nitpicking about.

First of all, the prices. A lot of the stuff here is a relatively expensive, and I can’t really blame them too much for that, given the fact that Trump is picking fights with other countries and putting tariffs on everything. However, a lot of the prices just felt plain outrageous to me. I found a cool keychain plush of Bandana Waddle Dee—$26. I could pretty easily find something similar on Amazon for nearly half the price of that. Additionally, some people have reported that some items are rung up at higher prices than their displayed prices, which may be accidental, but regardless, it feels kind of deceptive given the prices are already somewhat high.

Even though these high prices might seem normal for a brick-and-mortar store consisting of imported products in 2025, the quality control on some products, mostly food, make the high prices a lot less justified. I bought some seemingly birthday cake flavored Oreos from some very clearly displayed shelves in the front of the food section a couple of weeks ago, however when I went to eat them today they were very noticeably long beyond expiration. I checked the date on the package, and I’m pretty sure it said it expired in March earlier this year, even though I bought them in July. These Oreos were in the DISPLAY shelves of the food section, so I’m pretty pissed to find that these expired months before I even bought them.

Aside from these glaring issues, the selection of products is pretty cool—it’s a nice variety of pop culture, food, stationery, beauty products, and whatnot. It’s a whole lot of Sanrio and Chiikawa, so if that stuff is up your alley this store might be worth a visit.

Overall, it’s just okay—I’ve only went here twice and neither experiences were that bad, however I’m just kind of disappointed that one of the only store like this that’s super close to where I live is as...

Most of the snacks are unpriced in the freezers and shelves or have incorrect prices shown like the ice creams, cookies and candies. The young lady at the register told me ‘it’s wrong’ when I pointed out the price of my cookies rang up differently than what was shown on the shelves. She had no means of verifying when I told her it was showing $3.99 on the shelves and she just asked me ‘so you still want them?’. She also didn’t greet me when I walked up to checkout at the register, she and her colleague were busy chatting and smiling at each other and I felt like I was interrupting them when I placed my items at the counter for checkout. She turned to me with no greeting or eye contact or smile before starting to ring my items. The gentlemen on the sales floor in snack section was also reluctant to answer me when I first asked him ‘hi how are you?’ To get his attention before I asked him ‘how much are the ice creams in the freezers?’ because they had no price tags showing. He was busy on his tablet seemingly about inventory, it took him a good amount of silence before ignoring my ‘how are you?’ And just asked me ‘what ice creams?’ Again, I felt like I was interrupting his work but shouldn’t the staff be friendly enough to respond to a ‘hi, how are you?’ Or greet with a hi/smile with eye contact at the register? Also possibly be flexible and pivot to assist customers’ questions when the staff member is on the sales floor? I guess it was a slow quiet Monday evening after thanksgiving break and most of them didn’t want to be there working the evening. There were also snacks that have expired or close to expire soon. Plenty of chips on the shelves were about to expire at the end of this month, pretty old inventory that I would not...
