I don’t eat Popeye’s often. Therefore, I don’t go to their restaurants frequently. However, the few times I have gone into an establishment, the service has been lacking. But the Popeye’s on Lavista Road in Tucker is by far the worst I’ve visited. The lack of customer service, professionalism, basic respect, and common courtesy is unbelievable.
I placed my order at the drive-thru. When I pulled up to the window where you pay, I showed my QR code to redeem points for a free meal. The worker sighed in annoyance and said, “My scanner isn’t working, so I can’t scan that. I’ll give you a receipt and you can scan that to get the points.” I responded, “This is for a free meal, not points.” He then dared to raise his voice at me and say, “Did you not hear what I just said?” I’ll admit I raised my voice at him and repeated his very question, “Did you not hear what I just said? This is not for points; it’s to pay for the meal.”
Fast forward, I placed the order online for store pick up. Once I went into the store, the cashier couldn’t find my order. She asked to see the receipt, which I showed. She then asked me what was in the order, which was clearly printed on the email receipt. But I chalked that up to a computer glitch because technology happens sometimes. I asked her what the dipping sauces were because I couldn’t remember which one I had chosen with my order. She replied, “We give buttermilk ranch sauce with the wings,” as if I didn’t have a choice in the matter. I tell her which sauce I want, which is not the buttermilk ranch. After I finally received my food, which took about 35 minutes from the time I placed the order for “pick up now,” I asked to speak with a manager. For some reason, the woman I asked this of forgot that she was the manager because her response was ok, and she turned to walk away as if she was going to get someone, only to turn back around and say, “I am the manager.”
As if all of this wasn’t enough, while I was waiting for my order, I witnessed the cashier insult another customer because she was incapable of listening and comprehending. This was taking place as an employee kept sweeping the floor where I was standing. Each time I stepped over to get out of his way, he’d sweep the area to which I moved. The customer was trying to explain that he wanted six pieces of chicken as a meal. She kept repeating that they don’t have a 6-piece dinner, only 6-piece wings each time, louder than the first and with a greater degree of annoyance. As the customer is speaking to her in English, she turns to a young Latina woman and says, “Tell him we don’t have a 6-piece chicken meal because he don’t speak English.” The customer responded, “I do speak English.” Might I add that his grammar appeared better than that of the cashier? The woman who told me she was the manager jumped on board with the cashier to say to the customer he couldn’t get what he wanted because they didn’t make it. The customer gave up and, out of frustration, asked for something else. A kind gentleman standing in line behind this customer explained to both of the employees what the man was trying to order. When they realized the misunderstanding was on their part, they never apologized to the customer. The look on the face of the young Latina woman who stood there watching this play out and never uttered a word was priceless. I was disgusted! It was very disheartening to see how paying customers are treated at this establishment because the staff lacks basic customer service skills.
I tried to call Popeye’s corporate office, but they made that impossible. I can only text with a representative, who, by the way, never responded. No surprise there, right?
I am aware that in today’s culture, it is difficult to find capable, reliable people with solid work ethics. But Popeye’s, you can do better! Hire better, train better, and use this review as a teachable moment to better equip your staff to deal...
Read moreThis location is by far the worst Popeyes that I've ever encountered in Atlanta. It baffles me at times how some of the WORST people decide to work in Customer Service just for a check. I just left this place at midnight after placing my order on the app and waiting for 30 minutes when there were no other cars in front of me and only one behind me the entire time.
I ordered a 3 pc spicy, popcorn shrimp, and fries around 11:20 pm on the app. I arrived at 11:30 pm in the drive thru and was told by a manager named Tara over the intercom that I was gonna have to cancel my order because they didn't have it so I pulled up to the window. She came to the windows with a NASTY attitude mean mugging me and rolling her eyes looking at me like she wanted to fight me. I asked her what was the problem and she told me that the cook had already cleaned up for the night and put the chicken away and it didn't make sense for him to just drop three pieces. She said but I can give you the shrimp though. I'm like no I'd rather just cancel the order then but you guys don't close until midnight I don't understand . She then had the audacity to say I don't know who would be ordering on an app anyway at this time of the night! I had to keep my composure ar that point and just asked for her name. She then offered to cook the chicken but I was gonna have to wait 15 minutes so I did.
She came out to the car and handed me the bag and just walked off. This is not the first incident of hostility that has been shown towards me by this staff. I can recollect several instances dating back to earlier this year. And the short lady who is the General Manager at this location is just as bad. She has a really bad demeanor and attitude towards customers herself. About 90% of the staff here are angry looking and acting women unfortunately. They all act like they have a chip on their shoulders and hate their job. They treat customers like we are bothering them when we place an order. You come thru the drive thru to place an order and the cashiers are rushing you and asking you is that it. There is no upselling or nothing just hurry up and get out my face type of vibe. From reading some of the reviews for this location I can already see that several other customers share my sentiment about this hostile environment.
I will be calling corporate first thing Monday morning to tell them about these reoccurring issues with all the employees at this location including management. I will email the CEO and or put this on social media if I have to. If you don't like your job then quit and find another. Corporate needs to come to this location and clean house from the top down. Hire some of these foreign workers and I'll bet this location will thrive.
By the way, I had to throw away my enitre order except for the fries because my shrimp were overcooked and were hard as rocks plus the chicken didnt have any type of spice or seasoning to it whatsoever. I feel like they did this...
Read moreI would give 0 stars if I could. This location definitely doesn’t deserve even a half star. I have visited this store on numerous occasions, my mother and I drive 30 minutes to visit this location because we like their service better.
As of the past 6 months or so this particular location has done a major turn around from the customer service to the food. I have had several encounters with different employees who have been lacking in providing good customer service.
As of today, 5/24/2019, at 7:30 PM I drive up to the drive thru speaker to ask a question about the current special going on which includes chicken tenders. I had a nice attitude and simply asked the young lady name Daja if this sale is pertaining to chicken tenders only or am I able to get chicken. Daja responded with an extremely nasty attitude and told me “they’re chicken tenders and it comes with a biscuit”. With assuming she may have not heard me inquiring if I am able to get chicken instead I asked her again very nicely. Daja proceeded to respond with an even nastier attitude at this point screaming at me thru her headset to say “I said it comes with chicken tenders and a biscuit”
I was mortified at how she responded considering how I simply inquired as I feel she should have the knowledge of what can be substituted since she is a Popeyes employee and is working the drive thru to take orders.
As I drove around to the window her manager came to the window to defend his worker and began to tell me that I was incorrect and took it wrong how Daja raised her voice at me and that she could not hear me. I tried to explain to him that she could hear my inquiry and understood very well by her response. He continued to defend Daja and proceeded to tell me I took it the wrong way, excusing her rudeness and lack of customer service.
I explained to him that this occurrence was very unnecessary and how I have just lost my loved one who is dear to me and that we take a very long trip just to come to this particular store because we liked the service and that we cannot and will not return as long as his workers are treating customers this way and him allowing it. The manager didn’t seem to have any interest in what I was saying nor concern. He continued to look as if he did not care while along side Daja is standing there with no concern or care as well.
I am very disappointed in BOTH the manager of the store and the worker Daja’s behavior and attitude on today’s visit.
I will not be returning and anyone who I can inform of this stores rudeness and lack of customer service, I...
