Looked at menu online and attempted to place order over the phone but got no answer after several calls. I assumed they were busy so I drove there to place my order in person only to discover they were not busy and did not honor their menu prices. The menu prices online and on their actual menus are the same but as you can see from my receipt they were not honored. I ordered a rice bowl (see attached) and wanted to add extra meat. I was told the rice bowl with two meats (chicken & shrimp) would be $12.70 which makes sense considering the prices advertised but I was charged $12.95 for the bowl which included $1.00 for the shrimp, & $1.75 for the chicken (makes no sense). I ordered the 4 toppings that come with the rice bowl and then I requested 1 additional topping (guacamole). I was charged $1.75 for the guacamole even though I showed him on their own menu that each additional topping was supposed to be $0.85. The guy at the register told me he was unsure of why their menu said that and they did not have a button on their computer that would allow him to honor that. After telling him that made no sense & getting nowhere with the discussion I was then told they wouldn't even put it in the bowl it would be on the side and then they guy proceeded to charge me $0.25 for each dish because it was a to go order. I told him since he over charged me by $0.90 for the guac that it would be good customer service not to charge the to go charge but that fell on deaf ears. I got my bowl home only to discover minimal rice in the bottom of the pan and the chimichanga I ordered had more onions and peppers than shredded chicken. At the end of the day the money wasn't the issue it was the fact that their prices just didn't match up and instead of honoring their displayed prices they decided to argue with me over them and then overcharge me for a poorly prepared meal. My experience was less than stellar...Please excuse any typos in this hastily typed review.

* this is a full review of how the staff here attempted to call the police on me* This was one of the worst experiences I have ever encountered in terms of dealing with a restaurant. Let me start by saying I live near a Monterey‘s restaurant in the Smyrna area that I frequent often. I assumed that all the restaurants were affiliated and have the same quality service and food, but boy was I wrong. When me and my friend got to the restaurant, The table and benches reeked of bleach. I was appreciative of the cleanliness, but feared that my clothes would be stained, which thankfully they were not. Nobody ever came to us and offered us chips or anything until we requested it. While we waited, I requested a cheese dip appetizer which tasted terrible and I requested for them to just take it back. I then ordered something on the menu, and the presentation of that meal was NOT something I would ever feel comfortable bringing out to a customer. The food looked as if it had been sitting out all day, and when I requested it they threw it in the microwave for a few minutes before serving it to me. I told them I No longer wanted it, and she casually walked by and placed our ticket on the table that included both the cheese dip and the nacho that I’ve never even touched! After going back-and-forth with her in regards to the matter, she threaten to call the police on me, to which I was perfectly fine with, because I was not in the wrong at all. I would never go back to this establishment ever again! Attached is photos of the food That came to the table.

Monterrey Mexican Restaurant is a chain of restaurants primarily located in the southeast, with several metro Atlanta locations. Blending Mexican, regional American, and other Latino cultures as early as the 70s, many of the area restaurants are some of the first Mexican restaurants to open in Atlanta. All restaurants are known for their fajitas, margaritas, and use of fresh ingredients. Over the decades, I have regularly frequented the Tucker location. It is one of my go-to spots for celebrating, reconnecting, venting, and exhaling. I’ve laughed, argued, and cried at the eatery's center long tables and patios. If you drink, plan on spending hours at either location. Their margaritas and sangritas are not for the once-in-a-blue-moon drinker. Over the years, I’ve developed a sensitivity to triple sec that keeps me from drinking non-craft margaritas. Fortunately, there are other tasty beverages on the menu. The eatery has lunch specials that carry into the weekend. My go-to order is the fajitas. I also enjoy their enchiladas, chicken tacos, and chimichangas. I can eat a bowl of chips with their amazing salsa and queso dips (I love mine with jalapenos and chorizo, but it depends on the crowd I am with).

They discriminate big time.Even when it comes to what you order, the service is extremely terrible. I took my grandbaby and girlfriend of mine there. This is my 3rd time going there. The first time was good. The second time I went with my neighbor, we had issues with the ladies that serve us. I notice that if you are not buying drinks and spending a certain amount of money, their attitude is extremely rude. We came for lunch and ordered the lunch special that was too cheap for our server. He realized that we didn't want any alcohol drinks because I was driving and had a two year old with me. He just took our order, dropped it on the table, and when we asked for something else, he acted though we were disturbing him and didn't crack a joke at all. We started to get up and leave the food then, but we were hungry. He was running and greeting others with enthusiasm. In the meantime, we got to literally beg for to go boxes. He finally brought me mines and left my friends on another table. My friend asked him if it was a problem with us. The food was running and tasteless. It wasn't appealing at all. So he definitely wasn't trying to hear what my friend was telling him. As a matter of fact, he is the cashier and the server. He had such a nasty attitude he argued with my friend when she told him that he was very disrespectful and that we wouldn't come back again. He started laughing and was like good. I usually don't spend my money where I am not welcome but it has been a while and I thought that they changed. I hate to say it if you are not the neighborhood customers. Don't patronize this place. You are not welcome. Don't just assume that you are not going to get a tip because what someone ordered is cheap. I do believe in tipping knowing that's how you...

This is the worst place that I have ate at in all of Georgia. We came because we often see people at the restaurant. They offered us a table by the door and we didn't want to seat by the door. The told us we could seat anywhere and the table we sat at was dirty. Which is ok, maybe someone had just left but no one bothered to come and clean it up. That should have been a clue. The server came and we asked for a few more minutes. He did not come back until 25 minutes later. That's too long. We had decided within a minute. We waited because we thought maybe the food was good. It took another 20 minutes to get the food. The place only had 3 other tables at different stages of their dinner. After receiving the food, my food was extremely greasy and they drowned my rice in cheese dip. Which was not the plate I ordered. I guess that was necessary because I realized the rice was old. The waiter did not come back to check if we liked the food. My companions meal was ordered because it said it had mushrooms. It only had 2 pieces of mushrooms. The onion was burnt and the rice was old. When he came back he didn't ask how it was, only if we wanted boxes. Because most of the food was on the plate. We did not want boxes and that is such a rare occurrence because my girlfriend does not ljke to waste food so we always have to go. When we are about to cash out they asked us how was everything. And my girlfriend said we really did not like one of the plates. She was referring to my meal. And the person asked whether we've said anything to our server and then he went on saying that since we didn't say anything, it was basically our fault. Never apologized for the food or tried to do anything to fix it. I just wanted to get out of there....
