I normally wouldn’t bother with this since I normally have a good experience here, but with the new Kroger built, i’ll drive there rather than deal with a bit of attitude because I assumed something based off of the price and sign it was in front of rather than a small sticker that could easily not be seen depending on what side is turned up to view.
It just rubbed me the wrong way that apparently both organic and regular sweet potatoes are in the same bin but on has one sign that says “Sweet potatoes $1.29”
Saw sign, grabbed 3 potatoes. Then goes to bypass the organic asparagus for the regular (because they are clearly separated), grabs a few more items and goes to self checkout. I type in sweet potatoes as my last item, weigh them and proceed move them to the bag to hear a random beep that confused me and assumed it was from the young lady next to me who was being helped by the assistant.
When the next step on the card reader read “continue checking out” I was confused. It had “sweet potatoes” highlighted, but no where did it say organic.
Called for the attendant and when she beeped her store card “organic sweet potatoes” popped up out of nowhere and baffled me.
She proceeded to tell me it scanned a sticker—that I wasn’t even aware of— and that all organic things have stickers in the store and asked if I wanted to pay the $1.99 or go get the “correct” ones. I was completely fine with that and said “no it’s okay. That’s fine.”
To which she explained the small sticker that wasn’t completely apparent again to which I said “I understand, they were just in the bin that only had one sign that said—“
And was abruptly interrupted and told “it doesn’t matter where they are. You need to look for the sticker. Now I’m homing to just ASSUME you really didn’t know and ring you up for the cheaper one. But next time, you need to look for a sticker.”
Clearly all other organic stuff is separated and I didn’t intend to grab it. It was literally two signs. One for a 4 pack of baked for $3.49 and the only other was for the loose ones at $1.29.
I was just trying to explain that someone else would get confused by the same thing to be talked to like a child and over talked again “YOU need to pay attention. People put things in random places all the time. Look for the sticker. Only organic things have a sticker.”
It might seem small, but it also made it seem like I was intentionally trying to get over on people when things are all jumbled up in one spot for things with two separate prices and how it could cause issues with other customers.
I’ll be avoiding this particular attendant...
Read moreIf I could give no stars I would! There is no way that three individuals make up their own rules! I get it no one likes work and everyone wants to make it home but if you have a job with specific hours when did it become fair to the consumer for someone to make their own hours! I have been going to this location for years and today my car breaks down (which isn’t Krogers fault) and I’m needing tools from the closes store in my area at 10:30. I decide to take the chance to make it to the Lavista Rd location and I’m stopped by two gentlemen holding guard at the door at 10:55. I let him know I just walked and needed “one” item. He says they close at 10:55 and I challenged him on this because I have lived in this area and have shopped in this location numerous times past 10:55. I proceeded to ask for the MOD and the Gentleman pictured lied and said she went home for the night. I told him I would be contacting management tomorrow morning due to this information he has given me. I then walk away and proceed to walk across the street to the gas station to see if they had what I needed which they didn’t. I walked past the location again to see a RED VEST EMPLOYEE letting people out of the store which made me approach to ask her (Mary) position and she stated she was the night time supervisor. And I asked her the same thing I asked the gentleman (pictured below) and she said she doesn’t operate off of online times she does what she wants and that’s close the store down at 10:55 . I find it really hard that Kroger allows their employees to dictate the hours of business. Loss of sales, turning customers away based off of penal reasons is not a great look on the business! I hope that Kroger gets a hold of this behavior as employees are hired to follow company rules not the other way around! I will be going further with this situation and Mary and that night staff needs more training on customer service and...
Read moreI normally don't do this, but I had to because I felt discriminated against. I went into the location last night with my son dad. We was having a little laugh at the self check out with another couple while cashing out our items. I scanned the smaller items normally on the scanning machine. Then I scanned the bigger items with the scanning gun. I had a 28 pack of nestle water, 2 big alkaline waters, a 2 racks of beef ribs, which I scanned those items with the scanning gun. I then proceeded to put the 2 racks of spare beef ribs into a bag ,when out of no where this old lady that was working in the self check out ran up to me in my face scaring demanding that I show her a receipt when I had never even paid yet. She accused me of not scanning my waters and spare ribs. I then told her can you please let me finish I have not paid yet ,but I did indeed scanned my items, I said Miss after u pay I can show you my receipt. She walked away but was still harassing me causing me and her to argue back and forth while the other customers watch afar. I was so embarrassed and ashamed. I have never been treated this way in my whole entire life, especially since this wa literally my neighborhood Kroger store. I felt like she was prejudice towards me . She singleed us out . People like her shouldn't work in a neighborhood where she thinks people who look like me are stealing. Because of my experience, I will be hiring a lawyer, for my mental pain and suffering that I experience. That experience has...
