2/18/25, I'm reversing my stance on this business. I was having a hard time getting through. Something seemed off, so I went in to order. I said I was making an order for carry out. The young man at the register asked me if I called ahead. I told him I tried but I couldn't get through. He looked kind of weird about it. He said they were busy. I would normally understand that, but again, something seemed off and I asked if something was wrong. He said no, just busy. I went to order again another time (we get food here almost ever week), and my call wouldn't go through. I had my daughter call and it went through, and there it was... The young man had BLOCKED my number from calling. We placed the order on her phone. I asked my daughter to come inside with me to 'witness' the conversation. I asked for a manager thinking something was off with the young man. He said there is no manager. I asked him why my # might be blocked bc I couldn't get through. He said I must have had an order I didn't pick up and that was customary procedure. I told him I've never had a missed order. He, again, was acting very very funny. I told him we come every week or so and I often refer the place to friends. I asked him if they didn't want my business to just let me know and we'd stop coming. He said no, that wasn't it and he'd fix the issue... But he never asked for my # or even tried to check. It made me think of our original conversation when I told him I couldn't get through... So thinking back to that conversation, he was blatantly lying to me. And now, he was most definitely not going to help or unblock my #. The craziest thing is I have no idea why this happened. As best I can figure, one time while trying to order I thought the Bluetooth was going to come over my car speaker but it didn't. So, I realized a little too late that I needed to grab the handset and the young man hung up. So, maybe he thought I was prank calling or wasting his time??? It's incredibly odd. The amount of money we've spent at this place makes me pretty upset to have this be the outcome. I could easily call from my kids' phones for future orders, but out of principle, we won't be back unless my number is UNBLOCKED. The young man half heartedly took my number after I asked him to look into it. My daughter said the entire situation was creepy, and I agree. What a shame.
----previous review---- We come here every other week. It is nice to have a place I can pick up food from where the whole family will eat (picky eaters included). I love that they answer the phone to take call in orders. It makes it convenient to order on my way home and...
Read moreToday is my first time here and I must say it was not a good experience. The price for the food is definitely not worth the amount they give you. Although the cashier was nice I felt rushed to order, I ordered 2 regular size(which turned out to be a half size container) steak plates with vegitibles ($17.74). They gave mostly rice which is "SUPPOSED TO BE" fried rice, however it was basically white rice mixed with a little bit of teriyaki sauce (very bland) and thrown on the grill to make it taste fried, the steak was cut into very small pieces and had no taste or seasoning and was very chewy, I could literally count the 5 thin slices of mushrooms, the zucchini almost did not exist and the onions tasted almost raw, the portion was very small and the teriyaki sauce(same sauce as rice) is very bland as well, it pretty much tasted generic. I will definitely not be coming back here and would not recommend this place to anyone. I would also like to add that it is located right next to a gas station so parking...
Read moreMy son, Alexander loves Japanese food, so we decided to give this place a try, while in Atlanta.
When I got there to pickup my son's food, I was welcomed with great customer service, and noticed how thoroughly other customers food orders were packaged, and furthermore stapled to ensure the safety of the food orders being picked-up & delivered by DoorDash, UberEats, and GrubHub since the cleanliness of each driver varies.
Coming from a home with a father who was a culinary chef, food and art went hand-in-hand. As a professional artist myself, I have an eye for detail. I loved how the restaurant cut the vegetables (specially sweet carrots, and zucchini) and didn't overcook them to become wimpy/soggy. The fried rice was tasty with caramelized onions, and the chicken placed on top of the vegetables +fried rice was perfectly cooked and seasoned just right. Hibachi Express is by far one of the best tasting Japanese Hibachi food restaurants in Atlanta,...
