Amazing Nail Spa — Attraction in Tucson

Other than Hollywood nails this is one of the worst nail salons I have been to!! I live in Kentucky where I have an awesome nail salon. I usually get a pedi with normal polish and a gel French manicure. The mani usually last at least five weeks and I file them as they grow...this is why I get a French mani. When I went in I asked if they could not use a file on top of my nails as it makes them thin and then they break. They reluctantly did not use electric file and got an attitude even though I was up front with what I wanted done. One day later the tip of my index finger nail chipped off and my nail broke. I went back in to ask if it could be fixed and they did not take the polish off they just tried to put gel over the old polish and only put my hand in the light machine for 18 seconds .they said I was done and sent me out with a sticky wet nail....the next morning they nail tip next to it chipped as well! I waited a week, with chipped nails, and went back to have it all re-done because it was so bad. Needless to say big mistake. This time they insisted on using the electric sander on the tops of my nails instead of using nail polish remover. It has been less than a week and I now have 3 nails that have broken below skin line and are very painful!!!

As for the pedicure I had to stay on them from the time I sat down. I needed them clipped down because they were so long but the nail tech did not want to do it. Finally she used cuticle clippers to cut my nails down. They were jagged and I told her they were not right and she got mad and grabbed a file and hurt me as she filed very ruff. She also cut two of my toes while cleaning cuticles. I asked her to clean up the bottom of my feet because she was done with the mani after just shortening my nails and she told me they didn’t do what I was asking????? Then when I insisted she do it she said she would have to charge me to clean the bottom of my feet. I gave up! No massage on my hands or feet and I paid 65.00. It is going to take my nails a couple of months to grow back out beyond my nail bed.....do yourself a favor do not go here!!!! Gave it the benefit of the doubt second time and I am...

The overall experience was ok, but the customer service was not that great.

I felt uncomfortable because they were VERY pushy about gel. I just wanted to get a pedicure with regular nail polish, because gel is so annoying to remove and regular lacquer still lasts a very long time for me on my toes. Additionally some people develop allergies if they use gel too much. I didn’t want that.

But they kept asking me repeatedly if I wanted gel (maybe about 5 times). Saying it lasts longer. When I didn’t give in, they mentioned they could do it for cheaper than they typically charge (but still more expensive than a regular nail polish pedicure). I just felt like they wanted to upcharge me. I just wish I could ask for what I want without being pestered to change my mind.

Additionally I felt rushed out after my pedicure was done, even though it was pretty empty at the time. In other salons, I’ve been told I can stay for a while to give my nail polish some time to dry, which is very kind. I do still try to leave after a couple minutes, since I don’t want to stay long. But here they wanted me to leave immediately. The customer service was not what I’ve been used to.

That being said, on the positives… the leg/foot massage was very good, the location was nice, and the prices are reasonable (if you don’t get upcharged). If you’re looking to get gel, you probably won’t experience the customer service issues I had.

I still tipped $10, since I particularly appreciated the massage. But I would have tipped more and left a 5 star review if the customer service was better. I’m not sure if...

I've been here lots of times. But the last two times were pretty much a disaster.

I went by myself about 4 weeks ago. I got a mani and pedi. They were nicely done. But when I got home I noticed on the receipt that they charged me for the $60 pedicure instead of the $35 pedicure I received. I was a bit mad, but didn't bother to do anything. So it's partly my fault for not complaining.

Then I went in about a week ago and I always get gel, and I picked out a pale pink color. I went in about noon and there was only one nail tech there. I was directed to a pedicure chair. Then another tech came in and started my pedicure. Then the original nail tech there came over and gave me my whole manicure while I was getting my pedicure! Bad idea.

My pedicure was really good while the second tech did it. My manicure was just bad. There was polish on the sides of my finger, the polish didn't go all the way down to the bottoms of my nails, and the polish wasn't all even. It looked bad. You could see where it was crooked from her doing it in the pedicure chair instead of at the work station.

Then the first tech made the second tech leave and she painted my toe nails. They were okay. But I don't know if the second tech even got my tip. I normally tip very well. But I didn't that time.

I finally just got it redone at another salon a week later because I was tired of seeing that bad job. ...
