Very disappointing experience living here. They had a move-in promise when we leased, that if they were not "move in ready" by move in day, we'd all receive 4 months of free rent. I guess we all have different definitions of ready, because on move in day, paint and dust were all over the floors, paint on temporary furniture that did not match the aesthetic of the apartment or the promised pictures with temporary, uncomfortable mattresses that I needed two mattress pads to sleep on. Called and asked when furniture would arrive, they told us October, then Thanskgiving break, but it was not until late November when it did. Almost half a year of full price rent for a poorly slapped together apartment. New furniture did arrive, however our couch despite looking nice was broken when it got here and does not fit together correctly. We have had numerous incidents where the fire alarm went off and we called the emergency maintenance line from multiple phones multiple times, and no one ever came. We were only able to get it turned off by sitting in the lobby and one of their employees who lives here happened to be getting out of the elevator and helped us. This happened at least 3 times, we even talked to management and they said the phone number was working fine, because they'd had others use it even though I have friends in another unit that experienced the exact same issue. 3 of my friends and I also have been locked out of our bedrooms and because the emergency number did not work, had to sleep on our couches with no access to any of our personal belongings until the office opened the next day. Talking to staff had no effect for months. Additionally, the special when I leased was that I'd get a $300 gift card BY move in day, I did not receive this until months later when I went and talked to the office, they said they forgot. Beyond all of that we were content enough here now and had no intentions of wanting to move. However, we were sent one email in August about renewing our lease with very little details, of course we didn't want to sign the same week we moved in, especially with the quality we'd seen so far and inaccurate furniture. Roommates and I called to renew our lease today, were told that the renewal period had ended a while ago, and that all of our bedrooms had been sold and that there was nothing we could do. Not a single warning was given that the renewal period was ending or that others had interest in signing for our unit. All of my roommates and I are extremely upset and disappointed and now do not have anywhere to live for next year. Good friends in another unit are in the same situation. Absolutely terrible communication from management and as of now, a bad experience living at Hub Park Ave that I would not...
Read moreFirst and foremost, the management here at The Hub Park Ave is great for the most part. Adrian and Anais were always so helpful and extremely nice. They were not the problem in any of this. But, there were a lot of issues that I had that were not fixed. First off, everyone was promised new furniture when we moved in and were supposed to get it in August and then it was pushed back to September which we never got. We ended up getting it during winter break. Second, our washers never worked properly, the water was always to the top when the load was considered "Done". We asked maintenance to fix the problem and they said it was our fault we are putting too much clothes in, mind you we would all do small loads of laundry and change the setting. Another issue that we had was that we had nasty unfiltered water coming out of the refrigerator. The management team said they were going to change out our filters but it took them months to do so, and when they did the water was still gross. We also had a couple incidents where there was food thrown at our door along. We brought it up to management and their responses were "do you guys have proof?"' obviously not what are we supposed to do, keep our eye on the door viewer all night when they have cameras that they could have checked. Another thing was that everytime we called the front desk, "their phones did not work" so they would hang up on us. They were always so rude and never looked happy to be there. Lastly, we are all being charged so much money when we left our apartment pretty clean at the end. We had nothing on our walls and are being charged for a full paint job. We are being charged a total of about $2000 to clean our apartment. This is all ridiculous and I know I am not the only one who has...
