TL;DR: it’s good but it’s expensive and it’s loud on weekend
I may be making mistakes that I am not sure of, if I did, I apologize. I am just sharing my experience with the apartment.
This apartment was.. interesting I will start with the negative first then the positives
Cons: the apartment’s exterior noise on (mostly) the weekends night is in my experience, very loud. I had hard times sleeping because of the noise and it wouldn’t stop till 2AM which was extremely annoying for me to start a class at 8am on Monday. for starters, it might be not expensive for you to live with roommate, but it was still bit more expensive for me. However I wouldn’t recommend living alone in this apartment since it will cost you a lot for a month. Unless you’re rich lol Parking is not with the apartment, and it is expensive. This, for me, was the most troubling. Paying $150 monthly is not worth it in my opinion. If it’s 300$ a year or at least less than $700 I would consider it, but a total of $1800 per year? I don’t know about the other parking slots in the area but UA offers $700 parking slot for a year in a garage.
Mixed: there’s a gym and it is good for cardio! However you’d still need to go to a real gym if you want to build muscles luxers for delivery packages are awesome and efficient. However, there are times where delivery drivers put the package outside the door for some reasons, and it will get stolen depending on the time of delivery. the elevators are fine, but sometimes they should be more than 2.
Pros: This apartment is a good place for new residents, as they have decorations that includes couch, bed, TV, desk, and more! Thats why I think splitting the price between roommate may be worth it for you the staff were really helpful and great! Maintainance may be a hit or miss on the speed but they will take care of it in a week wifi is great and it is paid within the apartment! washing machine and dryer is in-unit. One of the best thing unions offered. tram bus is close to apartment, but it is also luck based depending on the driver on the time. The tram may be later or earlier than you’d expect, hence I used to walk everday to commute in 30mins. But it did save time for me in many days! the kitchen was amazing for me, it’s like any other kitchen, but I liked it because it’s a bit wider than my current apartment. bathroom is big enough
In conclusion I would give it 7.2/10 4 stars Not the best experience but it’a a good choice if you have money and you’re moving outside from the dorms and fine about loud noises on weekends night
Note: if you have (and use frequently) a car but don’t want to pay apartment’s parking price I highly suggest that you look for another apartment. I learnt this a hard way, that I don’t know if the same solution will happen(where I subscribe a lower price for a 10 minutes distance on foot)
Overall, Thank You Union...
Read moreLet me begin with before move in even happened. Staff were friendly throughout, advertised well, etc. I was expecting an efficient and organized move in. At 8:00pm the night before move in, we got an email saying move in had to be pushed back until noon for a final check on the building. Keep in mind, most residents had parents who took off work and made plans to help with the move. I am honestly confused on how this building even passed that final check with all the issues that have happened. We were promised a gift card when we signed our lease 8 months ago. Still no gift card! Next, we get in our room and stuff is damaged, people are parking in the garage without a pass, the place is unfinished (stairs look like a construction site, furniture is wrapped up on floors, doors unpainted on the first day), water being turned off because of “blockages” randomly, and the fire alarm has went off three days in a row wasting everyone’s time with no fire. When we tried to call the emergency number to turn the alarm off, we got sent to voicemail with a “voicemail box not set up yet”. Everyone stands outside for 15 minutes with no employee in sight!! The residents aren’t even coming down the stairs anymore because everyone knows there is no fire. The day there is a real fire, everyone will sit in their room acting like it’s another false alarm. What happens then?? The fire department shows up upset and annoyed because there is no fire... it’s a joke. They have places to be and actual work to do. We are STUDENTS. We have assignments, jobs and places to be. Lastly, the garage exit door has been broken for two days now, meaning the entrance door is open all day and anyone is free to roam in the apartment complex and go up an elevator. Doesn’t make me feel very safe. What happens if random people try and break in to our cars when we were promised a SAFE garage??? I understand this place is new but it’s still unacceptable. They shouldn’t have opened the building this year if they weren’t prepared for all this. The building is beautiful and the amenities are good, but it’s hard to enjoy that with all of the negatives...
Read morei honestly have NOT had a negative experience similar to some of these reviews. Especially for student housing, I have had a great experience! Move-in day was extremely organized and I had no large issues with my unit. Apartment has clean, in good condition, and was as expected. They had a little welcome gift too, which was nice. I haven't had any issues with the fire alarm or the garage. i have seen issues with the property (like broken door) get fixed in a reasonable amount of time (like 3-4 days). The security is great, in my experience. A FOB is required for the outer street gate, then again at the front door, and even for using the elevator and using every amenity. The office staff are nice and host community events that gave us some free stuff. The store below the west building is also convenient. Sometimes the complex can be loud (especially on Fridays or Saturdays) and you can hear some street noise, but this comes with the location. The complex can't do much, so just consider it comes with the territory. The gym, deck, pool, etc are nice, often clean, and always open. The cost is definitely steep, and I would be a bit irritated to pay any more than I am now, however finances are different. Elevators always work, I have never seen any suspicious people in halls or in the garage, and the apartment is furnished well! I would recommend living here, but lease early so they honor your requests! (They honored our preferences for floor level and building when we signed in mid-fall). Thanks to Lydia for giving us a tour last years, answering our questions, and most importantly, being genuine! If cost isn't a huge concern, I would definitely look into this place! In all honestly, mostly based off of the security, the furniture, and the nicely renovated units, I have enjoyed the last few months much more than my...
