Tybee Surf Lessons LLC — Attraction in Tybee Island

'm a 42-year-old mom of three, and I've always wanted to try surfing. I love being at the beach, and anything water-related is my jam. I have to admit that I am not, nor have I ever been, the athletic type--so I never really thought I'd be able to surf. When my son was on spring break last week, I couldn't bear the thought that he'd spend the whole time playing video games, so I took a leap of faith and signed us both up for surfing lessons with Turner. I am SO glad I did, and wish I had done it sooner! We were both able to stand up on the board (a total surprise). Turner is just lovely. He's sweet, patient, and has a good sense of humor. We discussed our favorite cartoons and local restaurants while catching some great waves. We were lucky that Turner happened to have two extra wetsuits because the water was very cold that day! My family took lessons this week with Tybee Surf Lessons LLC. We had six ranging from my 10 year old granddaughter to me at age 65. My adult kids ranged from 24 to 37. Only one of us had previous surfing experience but all of us were able to get up on our boards.

Our surfing instructor was Turner Horton. He made the whole process enjoyable, fun, and unforgettable. He provided clear instructions and encouragement that boosted our confidence. The entire family was shocked when I stood up on the first try. It was a fantastic bonding experience for our family, filled with laughter and excitement.

This experience was truly memorable. There is a reason the ratings are so high. My 2 grandsons (8 and 10 yrs.) visited me in Savannah from the Midwest, and I hoped to provide a fantastic beach experience for them. Turner and Tybee Surf Lessons came through better than I could have hoped. Turner held the boys' attention, encouraged them, bonded with them, and had them up and riding the waves in a short time. Some practice and instruction on the beach preceded the actual water time, and the lessons were definitely the highlight of their visit.
