This was a pleasant surprise....Located across the street from the Historic Tybee Lighthouse and on the grounds of Fort Screven...AT NORTH BEACH... THEE IS LOTS OF HANDICAPPED PARKING AND LOTS ON LIGHTHOUSE SIDE AS WELL AS THE OCEAN SIDE OF TH BUILDING....THERE ARE NICE CLEAN RESTROOMS, TRASH CAN SITES...THERE IS A HANDICAP RAMP ! THE SALTY PELICAN HAS A EXCELLENT SHORT ORDER MENU FOR YOUNG AND OLD !!! ORDER TO GO OR OUTSIDE SEATING..! DARRELL HAS A DAILY LUNCH SPECIAL FOR $9 TODAY , I HAD FRIED CHICKEN, CORN, AND FRIED OKRA....LET ME TELL YOU IT WAS MAMAS HOME COOKING GOOD. ! Yepyep. The price is right AND THE PORTIONS ARE HUGE....!!! THE PALM TREES AND THE OCEAN BREEZE TURNS THE PORCH INTO A AWESOME ISLAND ATMOSPHERE TO CHILL WHILE YOU ENJOY YOUR MEAL!!! Read moreI am only going to address the service which was by far the worst I've seen in a while. The lady behind the counter did not want to be there and it showed. My 10 year old daughter asked a simple question about the food and the lady not only ignored her but turned up the volume on her phone and kept watching on her phone. My wife then patiently went to ask a question (because we were trying to order simple ice cream) and the lady rolled her eyes... I mean, who does this especially when you are in the service industry and supposed to be serving others... Unbelievable. It's sad that one person can ruin the experience of what could have been an enjoyable time eating ice cream on the beach but this Lady unfortunately was...
Read moreDon't bother-RUDE. We attempted to get lunch here. They only had tables on the side deck in the sun at a table with an umbrella. Ok, no problem. There were 4 of us, one side of the table did not have a chair, so I pulled a chair from another table over. I was told that I could not move any chairs because of social distancing rules. THERE WAS NO ONE ELSE ON THE SIDE DECK. They expected 2 of us to sit on one side of a 4 top, in the sun, leaving one shaded side unused. When we objected, they said blame the governor and told us to leave. We understand the need for social distancing. But they are clearly not understanding the meaning...
