Overall, our experience at the Tybee Island Inn B&B was a good one, however, it was not everything we expected it to be, especially at a price range of approximately $200.00 per night, in April.
Foremost, the front yard area of the grounds are beautiful. There are old oak trees with huge branches reaching across the courtyard, covered with beautiful Spanish moss, and shading the various sitting areas in the courtyard. The high fences and shade trees make you forget that you are sitting, quite literally, next to a large rehab center.
The house was beautiful and unrented rooms were open so you could poke through and view them. Towels, chairs, and sundry were available for free to take to the beach. Bike rental from the rack out front was an additional $10 per day, which seemed like something that should have been included, especially at this price point.
We had read reviews that the owner was both warm and aloof, and we found her to be rather aloof as well. During a quick check in and just as quick walkthrough of the house's amenities, we did not receive any of the warm interactions which normally make a B&B so desirable. No info on hidden gems in the area, suggestions of where to eat, etc. were provided. We were asked about food allergies, that's about it. As a gay couple visiting the south, you kind of always wonder if that's the reason people aren't friendly, even though you feel bad for wondering it.
We stayed in the Sea Cabin room, which we found to be a bit of a let down, as it is located directly behind the kitchen, accessed through the guest pantry. The room, however, was quite nice. The large tub, comfortable bedding and two TVs were great.
Full cable service is good, though one BIG issue is the WiFi. Even staying as we were in the main house, we were unable to access the network successfully, which put a crimp in some work I needed to do through citrix on my computer. They did have a computer available, but I could not use it for my work needs. It also seemed to be surrounded by personal effects, so I would have felt uncomfortable using it anyway.
Breakfast quality was nice. In the small guest fridge there was iced tea and water for the guests in pitchers. While good, you'd expect bottled water. There were also random beers and wine in the fridge, and it's not clear if this is for your use or if it belonged to someone. The afternoon snack was a cake.
With a few tweaks this place would be amazing. Warm welcomes, free bikes, advice on what to do in the area, maybe a buffet style breakfast instead of a sit-down affair would be very nice! Also, some form of light entertainment like afternoon tea, or evening glasses of sherry would also have been nice and given an authentic...

The bathroom had a shower and a tub. The large copper tub was our favorite, unique feature. I'm 6 foot tall and fit in it easily.||The service: Alyssa provided her personal contact number and was available to answer all of my questions about the local area. She was sure to create a breakfast around any dietary restrictions or allergies. The breakfasts were amazing! There was something savory and something sweet at each meal. Coffee, orange juice, and water was also available.||The location: the inn is only about a 5-minute walk from the beach (there are bikes available at the inn on a "first come, first served" basis)! And about 8-10 minutes from some restaurants, shops, and convenient stores. This section of beach is far less crowded than the pavilion and pier area, where there are more restaurants and shops. So, if you enjoy quiet relaxation, this is your spot! However, if you enjoy more interaction and the convenience of nearby establishments, the pier is only about a 10-minute drive. ||Overall: we were very well pleased with out first trip to Tybee, and so glad that we chose Tybee Island Inn Bed and Breakfast! We will absolutely be back when we need to relax and unwind from the...
