On 14th April, we went to the black rock park, It was sunny and beautiful day with lots of kids running around. All the kids were having a great time supervised by their parents. My super cautious son was mistakenly passing by this slide, in particular the green one,It has a latch attached when the kids sit. A parent/ superviser pushes it from one corner, it goes with a super high speed and comes to the other side. One of the kid who was sitting on this slide that I attached a pictures came with a strong force, and hit my son. Poor guy ended up breaking his bone on his left hand. We ended up spending the night in the ER, and he had to undergo a surgery to get it fixed. This is one of the dangerous swing at the black rock Park, which should come down for the safety of other kids. There are two other swings, which I have added pictures are dangerous too. when one kids swing it super hard it makes it risky for the other kids playing in the park. Irrespective of the age restriction, All the kids plays in the park and there is no way a parent can control other kids using the park. It has to be specific age restriction with some specific boundaries for elder kids to stay away. Kids above the age limit should not be allowed near specific slides who may misuse and makes it difficult to other kids. The more we love this park, which is a great facility there a few slides which are a hazard for kids. No other patent should go through the pain that we went through with my son in the hospital. I hope this reaches to the right management team and the respective slides get down for the safety...
Read moreThis is a pretty great playground. Pros --very cool, modern playground. ADA accessible, large parking area, lots of things I haven't seen at other parks. There's a 12+ section with exercise equipment styled after ninja warrior. There's a 2 person swing, a 4 person see saw. On the little toddler playground, there's a track for Matchbox cars. Just a very well thought out place. The cons are a lack of shade on the playground--there's shaded picnic tables outside of the playground and a walking path that might have some shade. The playground has a fence, but it's not fully fenced in. The fence won't keep a partially determined toddler in. It's just for show. Finally, there are two very, very cool towers to climb with slides. However, a 2ish year old who's determined can get up, get scared, and need a parent assist to come down. Unfortunately, the towers, while awesome for kids, are hard for parents. For this reason, I'd be a little cautious with that specific age range. It's not dangerous, imo, just very annoying. In general, though, one of the best playgrounds...
Read moreWe live 10 mins away from this place and have been a regular from the days my son was 2 yrs old. The whole playground is very well padded and has variety of options for kids ranging from zip lines to regular swings. I had a very bad experience with one of the elderly couple who were straight out racist towards me as we politely asked them if my son could share a seat on the double swing. They could have said no but instead they said yes and immediately took their grandkid out of the swing as soon as my son hopped on complaining that I was rude and was taking over the swing lol. Otherwise an excellent park for kids but always be aware of surroundings and who your kid is interacting with it. This has been our go to park for almost 3 years now and we enjoy it every time we come here. New Restrooms built out were a good...
