The atmosphere is nice, but it wasn't very good. I got 2 dirty martinis at happy hour that were pretty watery. I just chalked it up to "happy hour".
When we sat down for dinner, I ordered a 14oz New York strip, that was cooked the way I wanted it, but was seriously under seasoned, as in no salt or pepper. The side of fresh vegetables was also super underwhelming. I expected a lot more from am almost $30 steak. My wife said her prime rib was ok, but not great (especially since the server said they were known for how good it is). The other two meals at our table (a meatloaf and chicken dish) we're both only ok, but not worth the price.
The server was nice and friendly, but forgot to give the credit card back after the meal, so now my wife has to drive 35min out of her way (each way) to pick it up! I get it was a mistake, but at a place that charges like this, I expected way more.
We have no plans on ever going back. Overpriced for the quality, the portions were not as other reviews have started and the flub with the credit card put this place in 1 star territory. Thoroughly disappointing.
UPDATE: I'm happy to see the owner has responded to my review and is trying to do something about it. The truth is that I'm not going to go to your website and fill out a bunch of personal information so I can get a free meal or a discount at the restaurant. In fact, when my wife went to pick up the aforementioned credit card, they handed it to her without even asking to see her ID, or even questioning who she was! They just handed it over to her... they would have given it to anyone (we're making sure no charges were made while it was in the possession of the restaurant). This makes me wish I could give an even lower rating than 1 star! So no, I do not want a free meal or discount and I have zero desire to...
Read moreOur experience at Firebirds wood fired grill was nice. The decor was like a very upscale version of Longhorn.
The table bread that came out was very good! Very crispy exterior with a good bake on the inside. It paired nicely with the butter that came out with it.
The shareable appetizers ranged from deviled eggs to Philly cheesesteak egg rolls. I did not think they had very many lighter options to follow a large steak portion.
That being said, to start we got the seared ahi tuna appetizer which was absolutely delicious. The spicy mustard sauce is very spicy indeed. The salad that comes with it was really the star of the show. Dressed with the most amazing lime based dressing. The edamame and radish gave the salad great texture! The ahi tuna dish does not come with soy sauce, so we had to ask for it on the side.
We ordered the filet mignon entree with a side of seasoned steak fries. The filet is wrapped in smoked bacon. The bacon texture in my opinion did not go well with the smooth texture of the filet. The filet was cooked to a perfect medium rare.
We also ordered the aged ribeye entree which was even better. What makes ribeyes the best kind of steak is the retention of flavor and that really showed in this dish. The mashed potatoes were not memorable. The mashed potatoes honestly needed more flavor, so I ended up having to add a lot of salt.
We got a side of the port mushrooms but they came out cold, flavorless, and kind of slimy.
Our waiter also forgot our utensils and never refilled our water. Hopefully next time will be a better experience.
I would still come back in a heartbeat for the steak! Next time I visit though, I would probably just stick to the steak...
Read moreMy Best Friend works long hours on Tuesdays, so I like to send him dinner. I use UBER EATS, since I don’t live close. My friend absolutely is discussed by the taste and smell of ONIONS. On the UBER EATS Website, there are options to select “no” to many ingredients; however, there is not an option for “no onions.” I also didn’t see t he ingredients listed for each item. I was hesitant to order, yet I knew he would really enjoy a burger. After, looking at the items listed that one can select to not be included, I figured, this is a burger and either there wasn’t onions on it or they put the “hat” (lettuce, tomato, onion) separately. I was wrong and onions ate not an ingredient that can just be taken off with no remnants left behind. If someone cuts an onion and then cuts a cucumber, I can taste the onion on t he cucumber. I ended up calling the restaurant, not to ask for any money back, since my friend didn’t eat the burger, but to let the restaurant know what is not listed on the UBER EATS Website, esp. since most likely when the person works there work there, he/she is not going to order the restaurants food and it would be very unlikely he/she would order the food from UBER EATS. I spoke to the manager Bret, who stated he couldn’t give me any money back, of course I stated that isn’t the reason for my call, and then he apologized and thanked me for the information. I was told that he would let his higher ups know, yet it won’t be top priority. I appreciate him acknowledging that this is in fact an issue and that he was honest with me to make sure I didn’t have high expectations that it would be fixed right away.
My friend did say the BBQ Chicken COB Salad was...
