Salmon Run Bell Tower — Attraction in Vancouver

The Salmon Run Bell Tower and Glockenspiel can be found in Esther Short Park on the corner of 6th and Columbia Street. The 69-foot tall tower is definitely the highlight of this park. There are 4 large bronze sculptures of salmon leaping off the tower into jet water sprays on the sides, as well as 35 bronze bells that were actually cast in the Netherlands, and then shipped here.

This tower is situated in a nice park which has some historic value. The tower chimed on the hour but apparently the (Tribal Indian) story is no longer told. The founder of the square was a woman. This area of Vancouver looks like an 'old' downtown. There were some transients. Only one guy bothered us a bit, but we were able to shew him away. We took nice pictures. There were blooming Rose's.
