One star is generous. Please READ AND LISTEN to the reviews and warnings! I’ve never been to Drybar ever. My first AND LAST time! I didn’t look at reviews before scheduling and I should have. I looked at reviews too late on the day of. Once I saw the reviews about not getting in even with an appointment, having your appointment time changed without notice, or canceled on you I called to verify my appointment. I had to call 25 TIMES! When they did answer on the 25th call they immediately put me on hold. Then confirmed my name and appointment time. My appointment was at 3:30. I had family photos scheduled at 5 pm in Walnut Creek for my grandparents 60th wedding anniversary. I had to leave right after the appointment. I got there at 3:20. Got checked in by a man at the front desk. He left around 10-15 min later it seemed for a break or for the day. I wasn’t checked on until a nice young woman next to me started asking when she would be called back. She originally had an appointment at 3:45 but the stylist texted her come earlier at 3:15. At 4 pm her and I both were wondering if we would ever get our name called to get our hair styled. We both had events that we had to go to immediately after our appointment. I started calling other hair salons around but none were available immediately or open. There were only two stylists working. The man that checked me in at the front desk came back around 4 and helped the woman in front of me who was told to come early. One of the women stylists once finished worked on me next. I had 30 mins so all we could do is wash and blow out my hair. I showed her what I really wanted was my hair curled but after waiting 40 min and only having 30 mins until I had to leave for family photos we could only blow dry. I couldn’t believe they charged me the full price. I gave the woman a tip because it wasn’t her fault. She was new from the concord location and was doing her best to check people in and do everyone’s hair since there was only her and one other woman hair stylist until the man came back at 4. One woman came in shortly after me and had a 3:30 pm appointment as well and she decided to leave after waiting 45 min. A woman came in around 4 with her two daughters and she was upset because she had a 4:15 and was waiting well after 4 to be seen. It’s a big mess! Don’t chance it! I should get...
Read moreI have been to this location a few times in the past and it never disappointed. This recent experience was very disappointing and I will Not be returning anytime soon. I think they have new management, as the flow of the environment was not the same experience I have had in the past with any Drybar location.
Their stylists were not available for at least 15-20 minutes after our appointment time and I didn't recognize anyone there too so mostly all new people. They may have been overbooking themselves; Usually, Drybar will get you seated and ready to go within 5 minutes of arrival/appointment time. I had taken a guest here who is visiting from overseas and I have never experienced such lack of attention to quality of services at any Drybar location in the past. The stylist I had, though she was sweet, had water running down my face and into the front of my shirt. The water got in my eyes and my make-up was runny. She could not control the temperature of the water, it was going from cold to hot to cold drastically. She barely scrubbed my hair at all. She splashed my face with the shampoo/conditioner a few times. Anytime something did go down my face she did not wipe it off and left it to me to wipe off myself and I know she saw me trying to wipe my face each time. The blowout itself -- I can give her a 2/5. My guest had a guy, with lack of attention to detail and the stiff Shirley temple curls he did in her hair were far from the loose waves she requested. He kept knocking over sprays on the counter top with the wire. His demeanor was just not professional, but they were very keen to get us express checked out before we were even done.
Overall -- this is Not the kind of quality of work I am use to receiving from Drybar. I'm not sure if it's the budget cuts or what with the economy but if this is what Drybar is now everywhere, that's a major fall from their initial business model. I guess I will be driving to another city for a blowout at Drybar or just go down to stem salon and pay them the extra money for better...
Read moreI normally never ever post reviews, but this would be a first. I booked online and I also called to confirm my appointment and I drove 45 minutes to get my service done. When I walked inside, I wasn’t even greeted. No one smiled at me and it felt like no one was happy. Finally, someone came up to me and she was looking for my appointment. I could tell that she was very confused and then she told me to just take a seat and it wasn’t even a nice tone. Then my appointment time comes and someone’s trying to check me in and she’s very confused because she doesn’t see my appointment and I let her know that someone else tried to check me in and she just told me to go take a seat. I go to my email and I see that they canceled it without even letting me know which I thought was very unprofessional. There was no reason for the cancellation and I asked why I got canceled. They said they didn’t even know.. Candice was very nice But there was nothing that she could do and I had to wait a whole hour just to get my service done, but I had to be somewhere after. She got my name and phone number down but I keep calling and they seem to not pick up my phone call after I left. It seems like they don’t even want me to come back in there. I was very very nice even after they didn’t even do the service on me. I think it was a very rude and unprofessional workplace, and they wasted my time and money. I wouldn’t recommend coming to this location at all. I will say Candace did apologize on behalf of the girl that was supposed to take...
