My girlfriend and I popped into this burger spot after we hiked Mount Diablo. We were drawn in by the great reviews but were skeptical because of the establishment's low health inspection score. The atmosphere was great. I ordered the blue cheeseburger, and my girlfriend ordered the bison burger. The food tasted terrific; the burger was tender and well seasoned; the blue cheese was amazing. We left satisfied and said to ourselves we found a new burger place.
However, the problems began that night. My two-year-old woke up uncontrollably vomiting in the middle of the night. This had never happened to us before, so we were pretty worried. We thought the food we gave him from Broderick was just a little too much for his stomach. He then came down with a bad case of diarrhea. My girlfriend and I thought we had made a mistake giving him pieces of my hamburger. It wasn't until the next day at work. I realized that the case wasn't just isolated to him.
My stomach began to hurt that evening, and I hadn't had much of an appetite that whole day. By the time I got home, I was extremely nauseous. I began to vomit uncontrollably for about 30 minutes, curled up on the bathroom floor with some of the worst stomach cramps I have ever had in my life. My girlfriend became extremely worried. She wanted me to go to the emergency room, but I didn't want to. I couldn't move extremely weak and cold and had the worse case of diarrhea I have ever had as an adult. What made matters worse is my girlfriend began to vomit too! We were bed-ridden for about a day in a half. I had to call out of work the next day. I'm just now getting my wits about me enough to write this review. I will never eat at this establishment again, and if my review saves one person from the misery my family received from eating this food, then my work has been accomplished.
1)This was the only meal my family shared before we all came down with food poisoning. 2) We all ate blue cheese from this place, which led me to believe that the blue cheese was not good or the meat for the burgers was not kept at the right...
Read moreI have been wanting to try this place. I have seen it on Instagram and also when I am across the street at Litas. I go around the Bayarea and try different restaurants I see on social media. I was excited to eat here. They have alot of options for vegan and vegetarian which was good because I am a pescatarian. When I walked in I was greeted. I asked to sit outside it was a lovely day in Walnut Creek. The lady sat me outside and told me my waitress would be with me soon. She came out about 5-8 mins later. No worries I wanted to order the salmon bowl but it had ingredients that I didn't eat. So, I had to change it as I was looking the waitress seemed to be in a hurry. She abruptly said just look over the menu again and I'll be back. Ok! Anyway I ended up ordering the Crab Cakes and Buffalo Cauliflower. The bottom of the Crab Cakes was burnt and the Cauliflower was cold. I literally only ate one of the Crab Cakes and took a few bites of the Cauliflower. I just asked her for boxes. I didn't want to complain I just felt the service was little off. So, I wanted to just keep the peace. So, she gives me the check I pay in cash 100.00. She brings me the change. Usually you break up the change for the tip. There was only 4 1 dollar bills. The rest were bigger bills. I wanted to leave her a tip but more than 4.00. So, I asked her for change for the 10.00. If looks could kill. She looked insulted. First of all, you don't know what I was going to leave you. She necessarily didn't say anything but it was in her posture meaning her body language. Maybe she thought I wasn't going to tip you know people think black ppl don't tip anyway but that's not who I am. I have been in the hospitality industry so I understand. Sometimes you don't have to say anything it's all in your demeanor. That is mainly why I gave the...
Read moreThis was our second visit to Broderick Roadhouse and we are definitely going back! It was a busy Saturday afternoon and the place was packed and many folks waiting to be seated. We chose the bar as we could be seated immediately. The only reason that we gave the atmosphere a four stars that day was the crowd noise was very loud, but that certainly isn't restaurants fault. Now the food. We were anxious for the Wings as the first time we tried them we rated them in the top three of all Wings we've ever had. My wife is from Buffalo so Wings is a part of our culture. We have shifted Broderick's Wings into the number one spot. The Wings are Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside with a perfect amount of Buffalo spice. I chose the Reuben and she the Fish Tacos. I consider myself a Rueben expert given that any restaurant that has one I'm compelled to order it. Today was a big surprise. Our friendly server offered Sour Dough or the bun. I thought to myself no Rye? I chose the bun. To my surprise the Corned Beef seemed to hand carved and meaty. I have never had a Reuben with such generous delicious meat such as this. The only challenge I had was eating the sandwich which soon got messy and could not hold all the components together for long. Yeah I know, what a delicious problem to have! My Wife enjoyed her Tacos but couldn't finish all three so some came home along with the remainder of the Wings we didn't finish. So sad to have great leftovers for later! If you considering dining at Broderick's...go. If you are thinking of going to Broderick's...go. If you want some good hearty food...go. In fact just go to Broderick's. You can...
