Sauced BBQ & Spirits — Restaurant in Walnut Creek

I felt the need to share our most recent visit issue(s), My son and I decided that we were going to Sauced for my birthday dinner. We were greeted and sat indoors. It was 6:30 PM. Issue #1: Server did not know any of the dark beer brands and didn't offer to go ask. Issue #2: Had someone else drop the order at the table but did not follow up to see if it was ok, or if anything else was needed, I wasn't asked until the end of the meal if I wanted another beer. The manager did check earlier in our meal, but the server did not. At that time, we were ok. Issue #3 : We asked for another drink for my son, and she just dropped it at the table as she sped by. Issue #4: When we asked for to-go boxes, she did the same thing. Simply slapped them on the table as she walked by, never said a word. She did the exact same thing with the check. The food was good (don't ever get the mac and cheese as it is always awful). Issue #5: I went to the front to pay the bill. She couldn't count the change properly, not once, but twice- never did get it right. I had to do it. Now before you ask, we were one of only a total of five tables seated and there were other servers. I did speak to the manager who was very professional. I did tip, even though she absolutely did not deserve one....I don't know if they pool tips, so I did not want to screw the others. Looking back, they should have comped our meal. This is my second attempt at trying to get good service here. The first night, I sit at the bar and ordered a drink to have while I look over the menu. I noticed couple of people come to sit at the bar after I had ordered my drink, they are attended to and receive their drinks. All while I wait for mine. I had been there far too long at this point and didn't have confidence the rest of my service would be good so I left after not getting my drink, a water or any food.

The second evening, I sat at the bar for 5 minutes, no service and no bartender at the bar. At this point I turned on the stop watch function on my phone, and it was another 3 minutes before someone came to ask what I'd like. I ordered a drink and all is well and good...

After eating, I waited again for the bartender to notice I was ready to close out but she was in the middle of taking with 2 other people behind the bar and a customer sitting at the bar. Service just doesn't seem to be a priority or care fort the employees.

All in all, good food but probably the worst service I've ever had. Servers aren't attentive and just seem like they'd rather chat amongst themselves than provide service.

I love the atmosphere and the vibe the service was horrible and I was over charged for everything. Food was not that great. I ordered the surf and turf and wedge salad. The salad was wet and tasted like the lettuce needed to be washed… the tri-tip was all bloody and when I asked if they could cook through they said no, it comes like that but is cooked and I should eat it. The waitress suggested brisket and charged be more for it. I was served veggies mushed up. I was disappointed because I’ve been here before to get the 2way & bbq sandwich and again mishaps happen but it was fixed & there was no accountability and I was being forced to eat bloody $38 steak and had to pay more. My meal totaled to $58 after everything extra she charged me, I would have been better getting something like a 2-way or sandwich… it took 1 hours to get my food to me and then an extra 30-45 minutes to get it fixed and out to me again. I paid in cash and instead of bringing me the full amount of change I was shorted by $3 And told that’s all the change they had. I will be writing a blog later on...
