Do not come to the salon!! This is my first time visiting this salon, I gave them my inspo picture, and they said they could do it. They told me my root is dark so my color will not 100% match but will blend nicely Iike a balayage (as I quote the hairstylist and the manager). The after, you can see my black root hair and it did not blend in. I wish they had told me they couldnāt do it, or I wouldāve paid extra to get my roots lifted so my hair color would match. When I said I did not like how I could clearly see a line separating the 2 colors, the hair stylist told me to come back next week, she would fix it for free. She told me to come back inside to schedule an appointment, but she changed her mind and told me to wait. She went to speak to her manager and came back and told me to go somewhere else. She then blamed my previous salon that they bleach my hair but didnāt tell me. I got my hair done in NY and recently moved to CA, so Iām looking for a new salon, and I would know if they bleach my hair. Iāve been getting my hair done since high school. But they charged me full price, did not apologize, and kept saying we did tell you your root is going to be black which was not what they said from the beginning. I did not want to make a scene, so I paid and left, and will now have to go find a salon to fix this, but now I have a trust issue! My hair color doesnāt even look like my inspo picture! Also, I knew something was wrong the way she apply the color was like she slapping hair color on my hair, there was barely any sectioning. The hair wash was not it, I comb through my hair and I can see residue color underneath my fingernails and my scalp is itchy. I'm on another level of disappointment! I hope someone will read this before...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf I was able to give a zero starred rating, I would. Worst experience I have ever had! I came in to get a touch up on my highlights and ended up with VERY DAMAGED hair! Not only did she not check up on my foils during the processing part, she didnāt even consult my hair properly beforehand and during the washing session she kept saying how good it looked. When I was finally able to see my results at the blowout station, I realized on what she had done and how much damage she caused. My hair was stringy and white at the ends, while my roots were orange! When I confronted her about it she didnāt apologize, but instead slapping on bottles and bottles of different toners and boosters to my hair. To make matters worse, she was being extremely aggressive when it came to brushing, separating and blow drying my hair! Again, not once did she apologize for what she did or own up to her mistake, she instead gaslighted me the whole time saying how ānatural it is for sheddingā and āthats how it was suppose to turn out because you have had previous highlights beforeā. At the end, she did not charge me, but not because she felt bad for messing my hair up. She recomped my session because she was guilty doing such a horrible job that she would not own up to! I cannot believe how unprofessional she was with whole situation as well as her coworkers because of how they had covered for her and lied about my results as well. I am now traumatized of ever going to a hair salon and will never trust Madison...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām a Madison Reed member, and I usually visit the Palo Alto center. Yesterday, I visited the Walnut Creek Madison Reed, Honestly, I was not impressed at all. The colorist was nice to me, but she did not check in even once after she had applied the root touch up colors and had wrapped my hair up for the color to seep in. Not even once! However, that is not why Iām writing this review. The coloring was okay, and Iām not one to harp on complaints
The reason for this review is the person who washed my hair, named Delia, who was shockingly rude and downright condescending in her attitude! This was my first visit to the Walnut Creek Center, so I was not used to the place, and probably looked a little lost. Delia didnāt help me out, nor was there any āpleaseā or āthank youā. āDonāt move back so muchā, or āmove forward a bitā- this was how she talked to me throughout the time! Iām hoping that her attitude had NOTHING to do with the color of my skin. I have serious doubts about that, though. Delia needs to be trained on HOW to treat customers, politely, professionally, and with respect. Additionally, she needs full on training on cultural cognizance, cultural awareness, and implicit bias. Iām a pro member of Madison Reed, and Iām thinking of ending my membership and asking my friends to do that, too. ZERO customer service is how I would describe my experience!!! Madison Reed - you need to hire better employees to represent your brand!!! And you need to train them on...
