I’d like to share our little "adventure" while attempting to buy tiles at this store.
We’re renovating our home, so we needed a lot of tiles—different ones, for various projects. Naturally, we weren’t just looking for something similar but the perfect option—which meant we needed a consultant. The only problem? Consultants in this store seem to be an endangered species.
Let me preface this by saying: I'm not one to leave angry reviews. But what we experienced at Floor & Decor wasn't just bad service - it was something between a surreal comedy sketch and a case study in how to make customers feel genuinely disgusted.
Enter the Worst Retail Employee I've Ever Met. A portrait of our heroine (hopefully, management will recognize her) because she doesn't wear a name tag: A lady of advanced years, petite, wearing glasses; Fashion choice: black tracksuit + rich green beaded necklace; Hair: a bold gray-green hue.
Even now, I feel physically repulsed remembering this woman. Imagine approaching someone for help and being met with such palpable disdain that you immediately regret entering the store. That was our experience in a nutshell - but let me elaborate.
Act 1: The Performance of Incompetence Us (politely): "Do you carry strip mosaic tiles in a glass-and-stone mix?" Her (with the air of someone hearing about electricity for the first time): "Never heard of those." (Spoiler: They were literally in stock. We found them ourselves later.)
Act 2: The Gaslighting Us (pointing to hexagon tiles): "Are these available in other materials or colors?" Her (monotone, like a broken robot): "These are marble." Us: "Yes, but do you have other options?" Her (visibly irritated): "They're. Marble."
At this point, it became clear: we weren't dealing with an unhelpful employee - we were facing active customer hostility disguised as retail work.
The Grand Finale When we miraculously found an entire display of hexagon tiles and called her over, she pretended not to recognize us. When we pointed out how unprofessional this was, she burst into laughter - the kind of mean-spirited cackle you'd expect from a cartoon villain. Then she literally hid behind a display, presumably to watch us leave.
The Most Vile Part? We saw her actively avoiding other customers too - ducking behind shelves when she spotted new victims approaching. This wasn't just bad training - this was malicious behavior.
Final Thoughts To management: Your store has potential. Your selection is decent. But this employee? She's not just bad at her job - she's toxic. The kind of person who makes customers feel physically uncomfortable just by existing in her vicinity.
We drove an hour to visit your store. We left feeling disgusted - not disappointed, not frustrated, but genuinely repulsed by the experience. And thanks to your "consultant," we'll never be back.
PS: Found another store where staff don't treat customers like inconveniences. Shockingly,...

There is confusion and mismanagement at Floor and Decor on how customers are greeted by sales people and pick-up area loaders. No salesperson was initially available to help me find a good laminate flooring product. When someone showed up by chance, I had to hail him down and when I got his attention, he said he was busy and would be right back. I thought that was the last time I would see him. Surprisingly, 15 minutes later he showed up. I was able to purchase some glossy cherry red laminate that was on sale for half price.
Unfortunately, Floor and Decor does not deliver merchandise. That was a real handicap for me because I don't own a Van or Pick-up truck nor do any of my nearby friends. I had to come back twice with my personal car to pick up 7 boxes on the first trip and 8 boxes of the laminate the following day.
On the first trip, there was NO ONE in the pick-up area or at the pick-up desk. They were out to lunch. Finally, somoone showed up to help. Other people also showed up to help me load my car with 7 boxes of laminate just outside the customer entrance to the pick-up desk.
When I showed up the next day, a worker said I had to back into the loading area. (The previous day I was told I couldn't park in the loading area because the individuals assigned to that area were not available).
Initially, however, the last 8 boxes of laminate could not be located. Finally someone showed up at the pick-up desk who knew how to locate the remaining 8 boxes of laminate.
Eventually, the remaining 8 boxes arrived in the pick-up area on a fork lift that almost hit the back of my car.
A guy with a red flag was motioning to me to stay away from the fork lift, but I insisted on staying there to watch that the fork lift did not hit my car. Fortunately, I was able to communicate to the fork lift operator to stop in time before hitting my car.
Needless to say this was NOT a good customer experience for me.
I would also like to mention that there was at least one individual either sitting or standing in the pick-uo area doing nothing except looking at his personal mobile phone. I'm sure these individuals are being paid to do work related appropriate tasks that don't include using their personal mobile phones.
On the positive side, the high gloss cherry red laminate I bought is a high quality laminate that clicks together well and looks beautiful.

Read moreThe absolute worst customer experience ever. I was told by Jacob the flooring and stair noses I needed were in stock and would be ready for pick up in one hour, so I paid in full. My contractors went there three hours later and order was not ready for pick up. My contractors went there each day for the following two days and order was not ready for pick.
After calling and getting the run around, it was finally brought to my attention that my order was not in stock and that it would take at least a few weeks to fulfill my order. Approximately five days had been wasted.
Tyler told me that I could substitute/ swap out my entire order for the same price for similar flooring and stair noses. When the invoice was sent for the substituted order, the stair noses were omitted. I asked about the stair noses being included, I was told that they were going to be added into the system and would be included in the order, and that notification would be sent later that day. I paid the invoice because I thought they were honest.
Approximately an entire week passed without an updated invoice that included the stair noses. I called repeatedly and kept getting the run around.
Suzanne told me that no one named Tyler worked there. When I told her that I have the entire conversation with Tyler recorded, she switched her story by saying that Tyler said that he never talked to me.
Well, I have the recording and my attorney will be reviewing it soon and will be contacting Floor & Decor corporate. I will get my...
