Yesterday, I had the worst restaurant experience of my life. It said there was a 1-10 minute wait, so I checked in online anyway and headed over. When we got there, the hostess was really rude. The online checkin didn't matter, which was fine, but we were thrown off by her rude attitude. I figured it was really busy, so she was probably stressed. We sat down for our half hour wait. When they called our name, we came up to the hostess station, and they ignored us for about 5 minutes, called another person up, and then gave us a dirty look when I said we had already been called. When we got to the table, they didn't bring my 6 year old a kid's menu. When we asked for one, they were out (but brought one to the table next to us about 10 minutes later.) We ordered water and sangria for the two adults. We got our salads and bread sticks after a bit only to realize we never were given silverware. After flagging down the waitress eventually, we asked her. She didn't apologize at all. She said just said okay and left. After waiting on another table, she brought us plastic take out silverware. (The tables around us had normal silverware.) Again, no apology. She just dumped them on the table and left. Then, one sangria arrived but not the other. We eventually flagged down another waitress and asked for regular silverware and the other drink we ordered. She brought the silverware for us, but didn't include one for my daughter. Eventually, we got our original waitress's attention and asked for silverware for my daughter, which she brought. This whole time, my water has also been empty. After 45 minutes at our table, we got our food and I got more water. The second sangria was brought halfway through the main course. The food tasted great, but I have without a doubt never had worse...
Read moreThe manager Matthew Wade should be embarrassed with the poor level of customer service provided by the hostess. We came for lunch with our 1 year old and the restaurant was fairly empty. We specifically requested a high chair and the hostess asked 2x if we would accept a booster chair. Apparently there were no available tables and sitting at a booth would have been a fire hazard with the high chair at the table. No problem, so we waited for a table to become available. 15 mins later I go to the restroom to wash my hands and I see at least 17 available tables. I come back and now ask for a manager who clearly sees we have been waiting (despite the restaurant being empty). The ‘manager’ quickly apologizes and seats us at an available table in the very front next to the bar. I asked (sarcastically) was that so difficult and she responded to me with a laugh in disappointment at the hostess saying, “apparently it was.”
Meanwhile, during the entire 15 minute wait my wife overheard the two hostesses complaining openly about the manager in front of us and another customer waiting for takeout. Did they not realize we were sitting there listening? Obviously not!
Overall, the food was awesome and our waitress was a delight, extremely attentive and constantly checking on us with our 1 year old child. I applaud her for making the rest of our experience a delight.
In closing, after we paid and departed for the front door with our child the two hostesses were engaged in heavy conversation and failed to acknowledge us with a “Thank you, come again, soon.”
I was not surprised and never experienced such poor service from a hostess at an Olive Garden. 100%...
Read moreIt's Olive Garden, right? Not fancy. Not run down. I usually get the Alfredo with shrimp. I've been here in the past but somehow have never left a review. The last experience was lacking in service. I don't know if the waiter was new or on his way out permanently.
First, after we placed our order, the salad and breadsticks didn't come out until maybe a couple of minutes before our food did. On top of that, there was no dressing on the salad. We told the waiter and he brought us small cups of dressing and advised us that some people feel the dressing is strong and to use it sparingly or as desired. Not a bad tip because there have been times in the past where the dressing would taste strong. Anyhow, it was just odd because I have never seen them add on the side and he didn't even ask us if that's how we wanted it, nor did he notice there was no dressing on it. Next, I get my Alfredo and what's the one common thing at any Italian restaurant that's added to Alfredo? Fresh Parmesan cheese. The waiter dropped off our food and didn't bother to ask and when he left, I felt maybe he was going to get it. I had to ask him for it. During our dinner, we stuck with water. When the waiter brought me the bill, somehow a soft drink was added. I felt that was more than just an honest mistake. Let's just say that guy got a crappy tip for seeming so uninterested in his job. To top it off, the manager who usually comes by the tables decided to skip us so I couldn't even say something in person. There's a reason I don't frequent Olive Garden's. They don't give me good reasons...
