I don't have time to spend explaining everything that is wrong with this place, they wasted so much of my time already. I will say that as a professional artist who has worked with many framers in my career I strongly suggest you DO NOT BRING ANYTHING TO THIS PLACE FOR FRAMING. I would not trust them with a xerox copy. I hope they go out of business they don't deserve to be in business. That corner shop could be used for something more useful. Just absolutely AWFUL, chipped frames, chipped and dirty glass, dirty and sticky(!!!)mat board, scratched my prints and hand cut them then BLAMED me for not bringing them precut. Excuse me sir shouldn't the framer be able to cut a straight line without damaging the object? And if you are not able to handle the job let the client know? Isn't that 50% of the job? Cutting a straight line without damaging it and having the proper tools to do it? Garbage materials for a price tag of $100 each for a simple 8x10 framing job. And I write this as someone who supports small businesses! But only if they do a good job and deserve the business. Tenleytown has plenty of other indie framers that are FAR better than this place at the same price or less. Save yourself the hassle and time and DO NOT GO HERE. The only good and simple part of my visit was the refund because the guy either knows how bad he did or he just doesn't care and it shows in the work. Just don't...

I reached out to this place way before I knew a Living Social deal was out there. They wrote me back and quoted me "about $400.00" to frame a poster sized print that I have. I then saw the deal on Living Social and purchased it. It was for $200 worth of Framing Services for $49.00. So, I'm thinking that I can get my print framed for about $249.00 (My $49 which was worth $200 plus $200 out of pocket would equal $249.00).
I go to their store in person and they verbally quoted me $580.00 to frame my print. So, I ask how that could be when they told me over e-mail that it was "about $400.00". They say that it must be their 40% discount! So, they re-calculate my total with the new 40% discount and it works out to be about $400.00 bucks.
It was then that I revealed that I had a deal through Living Social...which the salesperson informed me that it's only good on the cost of the FULL price and cannot be used with the quoted amount of "about $400.00."
So, I was disappointed to say the least.
I debated my options for a few then left the store. I plan on getting a refund through Living Social because I'm really not happy with how they conveniently changed the costs right before my eyes.
I will find somewhere else to spend my money.

Read moreI've been to several frame shops in the area, and while some are less pricey, none have been as great to work with than this place. I had 5 pieces together valued well over a $100,000 framed on a rush order for a hotel, and despite my demands and near-panic, the staff remained professional and helpful. I'm not an easily pleased person, and I believe you get what you pay for: I paid for a job to get done quickly, elegantly, and exactingly, and that's what I got at the The Framing Studio. A special thanks to the owner Jan who personally...
