Crisp & Juicy — Restaurant in Washington

I've been a customer of Crisp and Juicy in Tenleytown since this place first opened, and I won't be returning after today. I placed an order for pickup, and proceeded to the store to get my order. When I entered the store, there was no one near the counter - it looked like the place was abandoned. I was soon greeted by a surly employee who mumbled something completely incomprehensible. I had no idea what he said. I asked, "excuse me?" and he mumbled incomprehensibly again. I have trouble hearing sometimes, but I don't even think that was the issue. He was just mumbling in a surly tone. When asking what he said once again he addressed me in an aggressive, rude way. The guy just seemed like he hated working there and projects his anger onto customers. Reading the other reviews, it seems this guy has a habit of being rude to customers. It's really a shame. This establishment should look into hiring more friendly, accommodating staff. I've worked in the customer service area in the past for 5+ years, and this level of disrespect and bitterness towards customers would never be tolerated. These types of employees leave a bad taste in the mouth of their customers. Many establishments don't realize it, but one bad customer service experience is enough to lose a loyal customer for life - as is now the case with me. I certainly won't be spending money here again as there are a number of food options in the area that are preferable in terms of quality, taste, price, and customer service. If you want some Peruvian chicken without the extra, unnecessary spice from customer service, I'd recommend the famous chain, which is located just a couple of blocks down the...

UPDATED REVIEW: My husband went to pick up our family meal as we’ve done a few times prior without issue. Only difference this time is I didn’t pay online. When he went to pick up he realized the amount they were charging was about $5 more than the online receipt. Not a huge deal but obviously you’d assume the store would honor the online price (which is exactly what we paid the other times). They did not. And to add insult to injury, when my husband ask for the manager the woman at the register gave my husband the finger. While honestly I kind of find this reaction hilarious over $5 that shouldn’t have been charged. At this point my husband walked out and we got pizza next door. While I will miss the chicken, they need to get their staff together before I return.

Great food and a great value! We just tried this place for the first time this month and have ordered twice. The chicken is delicious and the sides are varied and plentiful. There is something for everyone. The salad sides are a bit lack luster, but I will forgive them as everything else...

This specific crisp and juicy is outrageous giving only one tiny sauce with my order of 1/4 chicken 2 sides which my order consisted of yuca and coleslaw. It’s ridiculous that they only give you ONE TINY sauce! And they charge you 45 cents to buy extra sauces! I’ve been going to crisp and juicy for years but at other locations and this specific location is the bottom of the barrel. The woman at the counter is rude with such a frown on her face. Not very welcoming. My yuca fries were overcooked. The woman at the counter was saying to take a picture of the code near the iPads where the link will send you to leave a review and you will get free sauces, that’s just ludicrous. My order took for ever and the restaurant was practically empty. They seem to prioritize online ordering. The coleslaw was ok more creamy than usual. The chicken was good and juicy.
