This was my third visit to Lush. My second was actually to fix something from my first appointment. This last visit was for a dip manicure and a pedicure at 6:30pm. Due to a large event happening this week in DC, I was 15-20 minutes late. Lush staff NEVER answer the phone, so it was impossible to tell them that I was running late. When I arrived, they asked what I was getting done and I told them. After I was seated, my tech started to wrap my nails to remove my gel polish and was halfway through with the removal when she said "You're just getting a manicure, correct?" I told her I was getting a manicure and a pedicure and that's when she told me that I would only be able to get a manicure. She told me that it was because I was late and I told her that traffic was terrible because of the event in town. She told me repeatedly what time my appointment was and that I would only be able to get a manicure. I told her that they should have called me if all I was going to be able to get done was my manicure. And the tech just kept repeating what time my appointment was. So I told her that I would just leave and not get anything done.
I absolutely understand that I was late for my appointment but they should have told me as soon as I arrived (or called me ahead of time) to say that they would only be able to do one of the services that I made the appointment for. I was 15 minutes into my appointment, with my polish half removed, before my tech said something. This is not the first time that I have had a bad customer service experience at this shop but this is the absolute last time that I give them a chance to redeem themselves. There are so many nail salons in DC - choose one...
Read moreMixed Review. This was my second time getting a pedicure here, and it was amazing both times.
This time I got a Gel X manicure, and it wasn’t the greatest. The design was beautiful, and she was very open to consulting with me about it to make sure I had what I wanted. Unfortunately, the execution was a bit sloppy. I didn’t walk out with nails that were immediately presentable. I got an ombré, which was done by airbrushing. My cuticles weren’t cleaned up between airbrushing and curing. When I asked about clean up, I was told it would come off after washing my hands a few times. While that’s true, I shouldn’t be sent out of the salon with polish all over my cuticles. Photos are from the next day after most of it came off, but there was a solid layer of nail polish on my cuticles when leaving. There were also globs of gel polish under my nails that I had to ask to have filed down. There just seemed to be less attention to detail and how the final product looked. The artistry was good, and they clearly know what they’re doing, but there were also shortcuts taken that compromise the results. I’ll go back, but I know now that I need to be more assertive and insistent...
Read moreNot worth the hassle! They don’t answer the phone at all. I’ve called everyday two weeks straight. Then I started DMing them. Their Website doesn’t let you add multiple services so if you book for one service and want an add on (ie a design) only two people in there can do it (I’m talking a single dot on each nail) and of course they won’t be available. Since I was very upset that I could not get what I wanted, desperate to book one of the design pros I instead drove all the way there from silver spring to book an appointment in person. Again no one that is available is capable of anything other than a gel manicure. Frustrated that I even had to do that, I let them know that I have tried several ways to make an appointment with no luck. They couldn’t care less (& I’ve been over a dozen times and really claimed them as my nail salon). I’ve given up - I’ll never go back. I wish we all would demand that businesses have a basic level of professionalism in their business practices before we...
