Prettyin’ Pottery is truly a gem. I visited just before leaving Houston with my sister and nieces, and we had the best time. It’s a charming, local studio run by the sweetest couple, kind, helpful, and so welcoming. You instantly feel at home when you walk through the door.
I loved it so much I went back three more times in the weeks that followed. Each visit I learned new techniques, got more confident, and started to discover my own style. One of my favorite pieces was a platter inspired by our family’s dill dip recipe. I spent six hours painting it, and it was worth every minute.
Another special piece was a water dish I made for our dog Penny, with hand-painted bluebonnets,my little love letter to Texas and her roots in the Hill Country.
The owners even have two adorable dogs, Lacey and Bailey, who make the space feel even more like home. If you’re looking for a creative outlet, quality time with family or friends, or a meaningful solo project, this is the place.
I’ve since moved out of state and have been trying to find something similar where I live, no luck yet. Prettyin’ Pottery set the bar high. If you’re in the Houston area, do yourself a favor and check them out. You won’t regret it.
Thank you, Tony and Kathy for the...
Read moreWould have given a lower rating, if it wasn't for Emily. Emily was amazing and very helpful!!! But Tony, just ruin the whole experience for us. I'm not quite sure if he work with kids before, but the whole night he would just keep hovering over us. I have never been to a paint place, where they limit you on how much paint, brushes and paint card you can have at the table. Anytime we would grab different color paint, Tony would come and put up some of our old paint up. When we would try to get more or bigger brushes, he would come and try to teach us how to clean and reuse the smaller one. Also, he would only give us 2 paint card and would show/tell us to only put small amount of paint at a time. That wouldn't be an issue, if he wouldn't constantly taking the paint away from the table. Meanwhile the ladies next to us, had all these paint and brushes on their table. But he didnt bother them at all or try to limit them...
Read moreSo happy to have a pottery studio in our area!! The married couple running it were really friendly. They said they opened five months ago. We went on a Friday evening as walk-ins; there were four other tables there, so plenty of open tables. Pricing on the pieces was all inclusive; the pottery piece, paint, etc. was all included. A good variety of pottery options and paint colors. The set up was really well done - it was easy to get everything you needed and get settled. Once we started painting, they checked on us a couple times to make sure we had everything we needed and ask if we had any questions. In a week, we’ll go back to pick up our pieces. It was a great experience. We’ll certainly be back! (They also had a good size party room for...
