So went to cancel my membership since we are moving out of state. They told me I had to pay $25 cancellation fee. We have been there since they opened. I asked to see the paperwork: To cancel your pass, you will need to fill out a pass cancellation form. You will be subject to pay a $25 cancellation fee. Annual Passes can only be cancelled with medical documentation from a physician or proof of new residency outside of Wentzville (this is what the contract stated) The wording seems as though if your moving outside of Wentzville or have a physicians note that it is ok to cancel which would make common sense. The front desk girls even told me they just had to charge someone being deployed for the military. Which to be quite frank made me come and write a review and tell everyone I know do not waste your money going here. Go to Planet Fitness, or Club Fitness no commitments, no fees like this for moving out of state which I showed proof. Yes I emailed Kate, the front desk told me she is a hard pressed for these fees from everyone no exceptions and yes she let me know via email that I do have to pay the fee and that pretty much I cannot cancel until I pay it. How about you all refund my annual pass since everything DOES NOT work--like the wet sauna always has issues and they consistently give us excuses for it. Or how about all the youth running around in the lobby dropping the "f" bomb or the staff at the front desk just continue to chat while you stand there waiting to be checked in. So seriously, let me pay you the $25 and I will just leave this review!
*UPDATE-So I reached back out from the reply and spoke to Kate again. We did have some emails back and forth regarding the concerns I stated above with kids and sauna. She recognized there has been some issues and they are and have done some remedying on the youth in the lobby and sauna per her statement. I did let them know again that it is the principle that some things like moving out of state are out of people's control and this paperwork should warrant a revise for the fee of $25. They did waive the fee, and I am grateful for it, but no one should ever have to go to the extent that I have done to get something like this waived and even discussed about when some things do warrant that fee to...
Read morealthough it's aesthetically very nice, and generally clean (can't speak for the leisure pool issues people discuss), the main drawback is the limited hours for both the gym itself & the lap swimming pool. For $60, it's just not competitive with other gym prices and it closes EARLY for a gym lol. I also do not personally follow the logic on why the summer is somehow considered "nonpeak season" - nonpeak to who? The days are literally longer, and more people are going to be swimming later and gymming later. I get home from work & if i don't immediately turn around to the pool or gym, it will be closed - especially on Fridays. On the weekends, it closes even earlier. I also don't appreciate how there's extra costs on top of the membership prices to attend fitness classes. That's like how streaming services now charge more for ad-free when that was the original point of streaming, lol.
While the place is clean and the staff is friendly, I'll be switching gyms when my current membership is up, as the hours & limited included fitness classes don't reflect the $60 per month value for me as someone who likes to go in the evenings or on random holidays like you know.... the super bowl or whatever. lol. And doesn't appreciate paying another $30 damn dollars PER CLASS on top of an already-pricier-than-average membership.
If you are a stay at home mom, like I'm sure there is a lot of in Wentzville, this is probably a great gym. If you are a 9-5er who has to take care of anything after work before heading to the gym or likes to attend fitness classes, probably look elsewhere for more hours, more classes, cheaper rates, etc.
Pros: clean environment, saunas, lap swim pool, weights
Cons: limited hours, extra costs for fitness classes, takes their sweet, sweet time to fix broken anything (took 2 years for them to get around to the outside...
Read moreWho ever designed this building should be fired same with who ever approved it to be built. Starting off with the front desk. It’s so unorganized and I give them the benefit of the doubt they are just starting out, but I’ve waited 4-5 minutes to check in. Some staff at the desk don’t pay much attention to what is going on also. There are more class rooms, conferences rooms, and open offices than most office buildings have. Why? Moving into the Gym. It’s small… going back to who ever designed this thing… why make all the exterior walls glass…. Now you have mirror wall splitting the weight area because you can’t put the mirrors over the glass. So that takes up the already limited space. Their also needs to be an age limit in the weight area… I’ve see. 7,8,10 year olds in there with no parents in sight… huge safety issue… these kids are taking up the already crowded gym and potentially going to hurt themselves. Locker rooms are alright not much to say there. Sauna and pool are also so small. There is a dry and wet sauna. Both small. You can maybe fit 5 people in each. The pool doesn’t have much seating so be prepared to stand if you want to watch your kids swim.
Overall we are locked into our membership for a year, but will be going back to club fitness once the new one opens up in Lake St Louis.
Wentzville definitely missed the mark on this one. Should of been 2x bigger, or less desk spaces. I don’t see this facility servicing Wentzville very will in the...
