This was our first time here after the reopening. We used to come to the Old Town Warren pretty frequently under the previous ownership simply because it was always a first-class experience. The front lobby is much different now and no longer has that classy decor that was so appealing. The new design, however, does feel more practical with self-serve popcorn and a soda station.
We went on a Saturday to see the new Superman movie. The theater rooms are as I remember them - clean, spacious and comfy. We didn't detect any odd odors as other reviewers have noted.
One of the more memorable experiences of going to the old Warren was food catering to your seat. The new owners have altered it slightly - you can still order from your seat thru their mobile app, but you must pick up your food at a designated area outside the theater room. Management did explain that they are working towards seat catering at some point in the near future.
The food we ordered was delicious - although the two boxes of french fries we received contained only a very small portion of fries inside. Not sure what that was about - maybe they were running low on potatoes that evening. But it certainly wasn't 8 dollars worth of fries. We were running late for another engagement after the movie was over, so I didn't have a chance to mention this to the manager.
Overall, my family had an enjoyable experience. It's good to see this Wichita landmark revived and back in operation. We hope to...
Read moreToday was our first time at this theater since boulevard took over. And they have done a great job. First off, today is monday so tix are 8 bucks cant beat that. There concessions are great. They have a lot of options. (And you can order from your seat? We will try that next time). The soda fountain is awesome. I highly suggest the pineapple cream soda. It was really tasty. Seems they also have beer on tap you can pour yourself. Really cool. We saw final destination which was in theater 7 aka the directors screen or w.e. i had never been in that one. And i will be looking for more movies to view in there. It is small just a few rows. Which is awesome. It is up a private elevator which is really cool. The seats were very comfortable and lean back and the leg rest raises up. There is a table for your drink and snacks that you can rotate over you. Over all it is a great theater i...
Read moreLet me just say I was rooting for this place and wanted to give it a better score because I love small local theater chains. But they have some stuff to work on.
Pros: Very polite staff, nice interior design, no seat reservations, Nice variety of snacks and items to purchase. No ridiculous ads before the movie.
Cons: No free drink refills (have never seen this before at any theater), No free popcorn refills, Weird chemical smells in the theaters. Seating was small and uncomfortable. No Dolby/IMAX theaters. Expected the popcorn to be better than the larger chains.
Will probably be a while before I come back here as the I find the lack of free drink refills to be kinda insane. Hopefully they are able to build themselves up and fix some of these issues. Overall I had a fine experience, but I see no definitive reason to come to this place over...
