I recently visited Curls Gone Wild for a balayage appointment with Shaylee and Lisa. Unfortunately, my experience was not entirely satisfactory. After specifying on the consultation form that I wanted to avoid a yellow-orange tone, that was exactly what I got.
After contacting the salon we were able to resolve it as best as possible but I feel that it was not the result I had in mind. Their excuse was that the shampoo I use daily had changed the tone of my hair in less than a week, which has never happened to me before with any balayage and considering that the photos I sent expressing my concerns were taken the same day after the appointment left me confused.
There was a lot of miscommunication from both parties regarding the color but As a client, I trusted the experts to guide me so that I could have the best result. On the other hand, I was not satisfied with the balayage technique. The application was uneven, with noticeable gaps between my natural hair color and the new color. The lack of face framing and root highlights was also disappointing.
While I appreciate the work of Shaylee and Lisa, I felt like they got defensive when I voiced my concerns. As a customer who paid $280 and left a $46 tip, I expected a more satisfying experience and better treatment for myself and my mother who was with me at the appointment especially considering I had to return for a second appointment to correct the issues.
I hope these feedback helps the salon improve their communication...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHonestly, I have not allowed anyone to touch my hair in over 5 years. Ok, maybe a man or two, here and there. It wasn't worth it. It is difficult letting people near.
I experienced disappointing results multiple times in my life after allowing people to style my hair. I have trust issues. I am working on it.
I decided it was time to be brave and roll the dice. I decided it was time to invest a little time and money into myself and relaxing the reins for once. Control freak? Who me?
I found Curls Gone Wild. The name fit my sense of style. I filled out the consultation on-line. A beautiful human called and set up the appointment for me. They have multiple stylists with amazing talents. The representative recommended the best person for me.
She was right! I was not disappointed. Timerie is absolutely a lovely human being. When you sit in that stylist chair it isn't just getting a hair cut and a blow out. It is a conversation and a connection.
The experience was so enjoyable I booked another appointment in advance. I usually say, "I will call you when I think it is time." Never meaning to call back, like a bad date.
Not only was Timerie a gift, the other employees were equally as kind and paid attention to any needs. They want to truly share an experience of relaxation. It is worth it! So am I!
PS: no hard sales on products with insinuations! Love this! I need to use what I have first. Budget baby!
Thank you to all the staff and a big appreciation...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI would not recommend this place since their customer service is terrible. I had an appointment scheduled and I was sent a text to confirm the appointment, I am a working mom with a baby, and I couldn't confirm right away after receiving the text. I got a personal text from the salon to which I replied within an hour that I would not be able to come. It was still 2 days prior to my appointment, however, they told me That I will be charged a cancellation fee of 50$. The original text mentioned nothing about a cancellation charge and I told them that I was only late by an hour and they don't mention anything about cancellation charges while booking the appointment or in their text message, but even then they still deducted 50$. If they had to send a personal text to confirm the appointment, they could at least send that prior to the 48 hr window so that the client has enough time to respond and is aware of the cancellation charges. Extremely disappointed!
And as I mentioned in conversation to the salon, I was never informed about any cancellation charges while booking the appointment or in any text message, I cancelled 2 days prior to the appointment, this is ātimely cancellationā. The business sending messages after the cancellation window has passed is of no use since you are still charging your clients for...
