Overall, I would rate Mokas a 3/5, being because the food was great and service is usually great, but a recent experience has since changed a lot.
Setting aside the bad things, it's pretty good. I usually get the Milky Way Latte (Highly recommended). I don't go in as often as I would like to, but I would definitely love to stop and get drinks when I'm nearby.
The servers and cashiers are very friendly and helpful, unlike some places that are lazier and less organized.
As far as my previous experience, it made me feel very uncomfortable and unwelcomed. I had walked in one day (about 2 weeks ago) to grab a coffee before walking to the library. I walked to the cashier and she had greeted me, went well so far, but then I asked to speak to Tanner. I was looking to repay something he had given me free before since my card wouldn't go through, but the cashier had said "I remember you, you're no longer able to get free drinks anymore." She had completely ignored my question, and began with indirect accusations. For context; we had an issue resolved before and it seemed like she had assumed that I was trying to go back in and resolve it with someone else to get more drinks. I was only looking to repay Tanner's generosity. I told her that it was about repaying him for a drink and she seemed to have a bad attitude about it. It had made me feel VERY uncomfortable and in some manner, guilt-tripped. I had then thought about not ordering anything, but I decided to handle the situation by carrying on with what I came in for, instead of walking out.
Definitely not looking forward to coming back any time soon, unless a compromise...
Read moreI actually really loved this cafe and I'm excited to be getting one soon that is much closer to where I live. The staff are very friendly here and the atmosphere is so cute. Everything was clean and there are plenty of seating options. I only wish they had more seating for smaller groups, as all the booth seats for 2 people only, and there were only I think 2 or 3 tables that sat up to 4. Otherwise they have large tables inside or bug comfy seats with only a small side table, which isn't ideal if you're ordering food or plan to work. Besides that, though, the building is very nice. The food is a bit pricey, similar to that of Starbucks or Panera. However, I do think the quality is better than those places. I had the turkey tomato pesto sandwich, I believe is what it's called? It is a hearty portion and very delicious. I also had a side of broccoli cheddar soup, which has always been my favorite. Their version has a bit of tanginess to it which I've never experienced, but it was surprisingly really good. I ordered it again when I went the second time. I recommend the Golden Marshmallow latte if you're into sweet, but not too sweet, iced drinks. I also had the Caramel Royale, to which I wasn't impressed and wouldn't order again. Overall, I hope to be back again to try some other items...
Read moreMokas was one of my favorite coffee shops until I began riding my bike there. On two different occasions I have left unsatisfied. The first time I rode my bicycle through the drive thru when there were no cars around and was told they could not serve me through the drive. Today I walked my clean bicycle into lobby to order a drink. After I ordered I was told I had to wait outside because I couldnt have a bike inside. When she brought my drink to me I asked if she was the manager and she was. I told her that I felt they were unfriendly to cyclist and explained. She said we have a bike rack by the drive thru. She then smirked turned around and said enjoy, as she walked away. I have been to many coffee shops, bars and businesses in town and had no issues. There are way to many other places to go without getting treated this way. I will not me back to Mokas and will express my opinion to all my cycling and...
