norma rivera has absolutely corrupted this church and the community- both her and her family. not only did they both THREATEN father alberto, they have also been stealing money from the church. when father alberto called them out on that, they were obviously upset. norma's husband threatened father alberto after mass and wanted to physically hurt the priest. ever since then, norma and her family have been lying to all of the hispanic (and probably american) community about everything, even calling father alberto "racist towards hispanics" even when he's a hispanic himself, which is one of the stupidest things ive heard her say. when father alberto called her out during his last mass (yes, they managed to kick him out and send him somewhere else, instead of believing him they believed some low-life and her group of snobs.) , she wasnt even there because she knew that he would expose her. last sunday (5/25/23) father thomas had the AUDACITY to talk trash about father alberto during the mass, calling him a "coward for leaving" when literally no one wanted him to leave, it was all norma and her family. and guess who was translating for him? norma, the same one that has been messing up this whole community and using everyone for her advantage, stealing from the church's earnings and even threatening a priest along with her husband. i cannot believe what this community has come to. i no longer have any respect for father thomas for everything that he said behind father alberto's back. you want to talk about someone being a coward? look at yourself and norma talking behind his back to the WHOLE hispanic community. why didnt you tell him before he left? because you both (yes, both, because father thomas did not stand up for his backup priest at all during this whole situation. if he really "cared" like he mentioned during father alberto's last mass, he would've spoken up about norma rivera's lies) are cowards looking like idiots talking behind father alberto's back.
father alberto was not a coward. if he was, he wouldnt have exposed norma during the last minutes of the mass in front of everyone. not only did he do it once, he did it twice. he mentioned that he never found any files of her applying to be the leader of the hispanic community / church (?) in general, she just placed herself there without any actual experience and knowledge.
i am very disappointed in father thomas for...
Read moreWhen I saw the inside of this beautiful church the first time and told God how excited I would be to grow here, I found these words coming out of my mouth saying, "Here I am Lord, Show me the way!" And HE did. So many ministries here to pick from, so many people to meet, each Mass is so diverse and heart warming, so many people with needs, so much love here from the least of my brethren, and a priest from Ohio, who was a nurse as I am, who asked me to Co-Ordinate the Camillus Ministry, and I did for 8 years, a nun, Sr Isaac, who welcomed several of us to help in RCIA, and I did for 7 years and I grew too, with each class as they studied our Catholic Faith each Sat morn and joined the church at Easter Saturday Vigil Mass, and than was invited by Sr Isaac to come to Social Outreach and be a part of that "Love giving" ministry as we helped oh so many people with such needs for their family to slowly get back on their feet. The biggest gift of all was seeing my husband Donald Mankin receiving the Sacrament of Baptism and Confirmation, and the Holy Eucharist, as he joined the church June, 2015, one year and five months before he died. He received the Sacrament of Healing several times standing together in this church at Fr Bob's Healing Masses, and than on his final resting place in LCF Hospice Care Center, Fr Bob gently spoke those words again with the three of us there as we knew the time was drawing near and he went to his Father in Heaven, five days later, very peacefully !
I have moved on now to Arizona and now beginning to see what ministry I would like to join here. Pray for me and with me as I begin this new life journey, and may you find this church with open arms reaching out to you to give of your time and...
Read moreBegun in 1909 and completed in 1911, the Spanish Baroque style building is exceptional in its construction and design. The plan is that of a Greek cross, with a high dome at the crossing, and barrel vaults above the transepts and sanctuary. Twin towers with domed cupolas flank a wide gabled entrance on the front façade. The building has a rusticated granite base; the central dome and barrel vaults above the transom have a copper finish, and the small crosses surmount the roofs of the domed cupolas. Constructed without nails, steel or wood beams, the building makes use of brick and tile in a functional manner. For more info please use...
