Kayaking at Dinky Dock – A Must-Visit Spot!

Dinky Dock is amazing! A few safety tips: always bring your life vest and go early, ideally between 6 AM and 10 AM. After 10, tour groups start arriving with kayaks, jet skis, and boat tours, which can crowd the area.

Weekdays are best for a peaceful experience. If you must go on the weekend, get there early. Pro tip: head to the left of the dock, you’ll find a calm river that boats and jet skis can't enter, making it perfect for kayakers.

The lake is huge, with plenty of space for everyone to enjoy Florida’s beautiful weather. Families often gather to swim, BBQ, and relax. There's a public bathroom toward the back of the parking lot and a free parking area, including spots for trailers.

Important: Do not park in the apartment lot to the left. Police patrol frequently and give tickets.

Enjoy, stay safe, and don’t forget to follow for more...

I thought this would be a great place to launch kayaks from. My friend and I came out on a Tuesday mid-day. I know the parking lot is small and hoped the week day would provide better access. We arrived to find no available spaces. While I stayed with our boats my friend drove around to find additional parking. FYI: There isn't any. Parking is available on Park Ave which is a long walk away. While I waited a fisherman left and I parked my car in his spot. NO SIGN saying NO PARKING at this spot. With that said, there is a sign saying no Rollins and overnight parking. The residents of the building next to dinky dock use this lot as their personal spaces. I saw a few Rollins decals parked there as well. I returned from my paddle to find a 25$ parking fine stating I was not in a space. Did the Rolling vehicles have tickets? Nope, I looked. Did the residents next door have tickets? Nope. Don't bother parking here it's a scam for...

Dock Park at Rollins College is a fantastic spot for launching boats, kayaks, and paddleboards. The boat ramp is easy to use, making it a great place for both beginners and experienced paddlers. There’s a spacious, free parking lot, which is a huge plus, especially on busy weekends. The area is well-maintained, with clean restrooms available for visitors. The surroundings are absolutely beautiful, with scenic lake views and plenty of greenery. It’s a peaceful place to relax, enjoy the water, or just take in the view. Whether you’re here for a quick paddle or a longer boating trip, it’s a convenient and well-kept launch site. Definitely one of the best spots in Winter Park for...

Loved, loved, loved paddleboarding these chain of lakes with their beautiful venetian canals that connect each lake. Also so fun to see all the amazing homes along the shore! Super peaceful and absolutely stunningly beautiful. So glad we drove inland from Ormond/Daytona beach one day to do this. Dinky dock has very little parking so try Fort Matiland park if it's full. So much more parking and a good bathroom there. We had planned to paddle back but in the end it was just as easy to deflate our boards and uber back to the car. You MUST have a life jacket available for each person and a whistle!
