Get Up And Go Kayaking - Winter Park — Attraction in Winter Park

Hubby and I have been kayaking off and on for years, however we are by no means professional kayakers. Usually we do day excursions. I have been working in Florida for over a year and have done several solo kayaking trips around Central Florida. This was our first evening excursion and our first experience with Get Up and Go Kayaking.

From the beginning everything was great! The website is user friendly. I booked and then realized our combined weight was outside the safety for a dual. I texted and the person who replied was super helpful and made a note that we would so singles.

When we arrived at Dinky Dock we were greeted by Rosa's friendly smiling face. She checked us in and said it would be a few moments as they were finishing one group and readying the kayaks for our tour.

Rosa gave us a safety briefing and made sure each individual was comfortable with the planned tour. She got us all settled in our yaks and soon we were on our way.

The sunset tour was lovely, the lakes were so pretty. Rosa's local knowledge was very informative and interesting.

On our way back a thunderstorm was brewing and made the last part of our journey a bit challenging. Rosa made sure everyone was okay, offered to stop and rest if need be but we all kept on. At one point, one couple decided to climb out on a dock, Rosa was there to assist and ensure the couple were safe. She recovered the yak and the rest of the group made it back to were we put in. Rosa made sure the couple that got out early were able to get back to our put in and all was good.

I don’t know where to begin! From the very beginning this was nothing but professional and amazing! Starting with professional: The team did a great job with communicating. They were very patient when it came to me wanting to keep this a surprise for my boyfriend birthday! I truly appreciate the effort that took place during the whole booking process! I paid and immediately received information to go over and return! They were quick with this whole process! The tour guide I forgot his name (sorry). He was very informative, nice and did an outstanding job. He made us feel very comfortable during the tour. He even took pictures of us: it’s the smallest details we will have forever. Thank You! Then, this amazing, wonderful , fantastic experience left me speechless! Being as though we never did this in our life! We were very nervous but started to warm up once we worked together as a team paddling. It was such a great date night and surprise birthday idea! The views of the area were amazing!!!! It was peaceful/quiet and the sunset was BEAUTIFUL. It wasn’t to hot since the sun was going down so it was the PERFECT setting! There is wildlife (birds, turtles, frogs, bugs). Nothing bothered us even down to the bugs. It was nothing flying around that was a distraction! I suggest a hat, towel, sunscreen. **We brought nothing coming directly from a flight! And I was wearing my work clothes! And still had a wonderful time!!!!!! You have to experience this to really understand the real feeling. It left a memorable mark...

First and foremost, I truly appreciate the excellent customer service we received. A friend of ours accidentally booked the wrong day, and we were so relieved to be able to speak to someone who quickly fixed the issue without any complications. Thanks to that support, he was able to join us and share in the experience.

It had been a few years since I last went kayaking, and I was a little nervous, but Cameron — an Army veteran — made everything feel easy and safe. He patiently walked me through how to use the paddles again, and thanks to his clear instructions and calming presence, I was able to relax and soak in every moment of the adventure.

This was my first time in Florida, and I’m going home with such a special memory. One unforgettable moment was when Cameron rescued a hawk that had fallen into the water. He handled it with care and reassured us that everything was going to be okay — it was truly inspiring and added a unique touch to an already incredible day.
