The Spa at The Alfond Inn — Local services in Winter Park

I had a 50-minute massage given by Svonne and it was great. She asked me a lot of questions beforehand to make sure I got what I wanted. I also added two other services, scaIp and hydration mask (two for $50). Although it was stated when I placed my order online, I did not see it and therefore did not know that they would be incorporated in my 50 minutes. Had I known that I would not have gotten them. It took time away from the massage and I wanted every minute of that massage! Even if it wasn't included in the 50 minutes, I don't think it was worth the money for them. Svonne was great and I highly recommend her. I will definitely request her next time. The robes were super soft and cozy. The locker room and amenities were very nice and clean. I used the sauna, the experience shower and the marble heated lounge-which were all great! I also had lunch by the pool and the food was excellent! Our waitress was awesome too. As for cons, they didn't have water bottles and were supposed to. We were told they ran out. To offer as snacks, they only had hot tea, whole apples, and nuts. In my experience, that area could use some improvement. My daughter is allergic to nuts-like many people are- so none of us had any. The dessert menu looked amazing, and they had about 10 different things which I spent a great deal of time reading, trying to decide what I wanted only to find out they didn't have it. Really disappointed in the new management and my most recent experience. I started coming to alfond spa when it first opened. It had a boutique but luxe feel with Rollins collaboration. The spa prices were expected, 200-300$ for 50 to 80 min massage with gratuity included.

Now the prices are absurd and the atmosphere is not relaxing. I just had an 80 min massage yesterday, booked online for $311. I assumed that there was a price increase due to the new management and that was fine. But when I was checking out, they added a 60$ service fee and told me it didn’t include gratuity for the massage therapist. I tipped more and it ended up being 400$ total for an 80 min massage.

I’m sorry but this isn’t the Four Seasons in Hawaii, not sure why the prices are this way. But on top of that, if you are charging luxe prices, make it a luxe experience. I shouldn’t have to think about the cost or the gratuity at the end. Just make it seamless like it used to be with the original management.

Now, for the massage itself. Totally wack now. I couldn’t even book my original girl (shout out to Svonne)…. Looks like all the OG therapists left. I didn’t recognize anyone’s name so I booked Male to be safe. The timing of the massage was all off, I shouldn’t haven’t to tell you how to fill up the time in what areas for a luxe experience.

Very disappointed for these prices as a local. I’m not sure if I’ll be back anymore. But if you are never around the area, definitely check it out, the spa is usually pretty empty...
