In April I went to see a movie in an empty theater and so I just sat where I liked best. As the movie was starting a couple walks down the isle and I was accidentally sitting in the seat of the woman in the couple. I immediately moved and was very nice about it, but the lady was very rude and didn't want me sitting in her row for some reason. She went and got the manager. I was hoping he would be on my side, but he was on a power trip and said I had to move out of the row she was in to where I had purchased my seat. I said I preferred to sit there and I didn't do anything wrong ( I was already out of the ladies seat, she just didn't want me in her row, out of what idk maybe selfishness). He wouldn't budge and told me I had to move to the purchased seat or get kicked out. Frustrated, I told him I would go exchange my ticket for the seat I was in and he said he wouldn't allow me to. What kind of manager won't let you buy the ticket you want? We squabbled verbally a bit, disagreeing, and I may have cursed in frustration at some points cause he was unreasonable, but I never got loud and physical etc. or cursed at him directly or insulted him. He wouldn't compromise with me. He ended up calling the cops and said he would give me a felony if I didn't leave, literally because I wanted to sit in a preferred seat and even said I would return my seat and purchase the one I preferred. I guess the managers at regal aren't trained very well if at all. It's the wild west out there and good luck if you get one who's on a power trip. This guy started talking on his walkie and so I complied and left with him and when I got out to the lobby there was actually two cops with guns and vests and a mall security guard. I mean seriously! I also asked him if I could get a free icee for the trouble since he ruined my movie (which was the only day I could see it; it was leaving the next day and I never got to see it!) and he straight up told me he "Could" give me an icee but didn't want to! Then the cops told me to stop asking him if I could get something for my trouble and just leave. I also left my keys in there and so had to come back and when I walked in the door (what I was afraid of happened) the cops started rushing me, until, I put my hands up and told them what happened. Fortunately they found my keys. Whoever this guy is he might be the worst manager of all time. I didn't get his name but I know what he looks like. I'm honestly kinda scared to go back there. I haven't since. I actually wrote a much longer review that was 7000 words about this incident which is why I'm posting so long after it happened but google only let's you have 4000 characters and yelp like 5000, I found out. But anyways, the whole thing was really terrible. This guy would literally rather call the cops then let you sit in a different seat. Horrible look for regal. I honestly use to go here all the time, but I'm probably gonna start going to AMC now even though it's farther. Apparently their screens are better anyway. I hope he isn't a manager anymore, if nothing else but for peoples safety; you should not have to deal with police at the theater unless you do something extremely belligerent and trying to watch the movie in the seat you want is not that. I hope higher management reaches out because I won't be returning as long as that guy is working there. I was really looking forward to the movie and dealing with cops gives me a lot of stress. Not only was I livid but I was scared and anxious, even though it's my right as a customer to sit in the seat I want or ask the manager for concessions if I have a crappy visit. I cannot tell you how much anxiety I had about going back for my keys. I don't know why this guy had a vendetta but it formed like immediately. And the lady was the one who was rude to me! So, another customer was rude to me and I get cops called on Me and my legal record threatened. Regal apparently does not care about your experience. Either their training was not very rigorous or this guy just went rogue and...
Read moreThis is honestly the best cineplex in all of Orlando!
It is freshly renovated and so comfortable all around. Every single auditorium has recliners. Not only that but every auditorium also has pristine picture quality and incredible audio. It doesn’t matter how small or big the theater is, every experience is a 10/10 movie experience that just cannot be replicated at home.
I think we have a Paul Thomas Anderson fan in the house! We recently watched One Battle After Another here in their RPX theater and it has never felt this powerful! Thanks for turning it up to 11 haha. All of our past experiences in RPX have been phenomenal and top-notch but on this one occasion, it was noticeably “beefier” and what a movie to pair that with!
I will even go as far as saying that the RPX experience here can sometimes outdo AMC’s Dolby Cinema and IMAX digital experiences in Altamonte. Plus it’s not as expensive as those other premium formats. You just can’t beat a discount Tuesday here in RPX for the price, it’s awesome.
Please note: RPX is different from “4DX” 4DX has the moving seats, water effects etc..
RPX here in Winter Park is basically a huge, top-quality screen with very powerful multi-channel audio with subwoofers under the seats. For those who aren’t really into all the crazy stuff in 4DX, this other experience is the better option as it doesn’t distract from the movie. The RPX sound design is honestly so interesting and fun, every single time!
As I mentioned before, one of the main things I appreciate about this cineplex is every single auditorium is just as good as the other. Whether it’s a movie that just premiered and you’re watching it in the largest theater or maybe just catching a re-screening in one of their smaller ones…sound and picture quality is never sacrificed at this Regal.
The bartenders here are wonderful! We really do appreciate getting certain cocktails served in those tall 24 ounce cups. It saves us having to miss out on the movie and possibly waiting behind a line to get more drinks.
The popcorn here is delicious and they do a wonderful job at assigning more open registers depending on the crowd movement in the lobby. If at any point you have to wait a little longer than usual in the concession line it’s always because of the customers, I guarantee it’s never because of the staff here. They have a great sense of urgency and are...
