One word to describe the experience: amazing.
My girlfriend and I decided to book this cruise while planning for our little get away to Wisconsin dells this weekend. We were hoping it would be a nice way to end our little vacation. Well, it exceeded our expectations. Everyone on the boat was super nice and makes you feel welcomed. We started off having to share a table with a couple on the lower deck due to it raining just previously. However, it started clearing up. I ventured up to the top deck to see some crew setting up some tables. I asked them if the top deck was available, they promptly said they would make a table for us, amazing. The cleaned the seats and set up the table for us. The first hour is happy hour, so you can drink as much as you want for “free.” I was expecting to have to go downstairs each time if my girlfriend and I wanted a drink, however our server kept checking up on us and brought all the drinks to us. Server was super nice and caring. So off we went enjoying the views while enjoying drinks. When we got to witches gultch, we were amazed by how beautiful it was. There was tiki torches lit throughout the path, the scenery, my goodness, just wonderful. Nice clean bathrooms were available there, in case boat bathrooms is not your thing. After coming back to the boat, the dinner was all ready. Grabbed a plate and was served huge shrimp, steak, potato, carrots, corn, and a bun. Food was good, nothing amazing, but definitely not bad by any means. Then off we went into the sunset while eating dinner. The entire time live music was being played, which we really enjoyed. You can get additional drinks at the bar, but make sure you bring cash because it’s only a cash bar. We finished our meals and then began heading back. We were then served a nice chocolate cake which both my girlfriend and I found to be really delicious. We both had such an amazing time. We HIGHLY recommend it. It’s a little pricey, but with everything you get, It was honestly worth every single penny.
Things to bring: Cash (to buy drinks after happy hour. Also, to tip your server and singer because they do an incredible job)
A jacket. (Gets a little cold on the way back when the sun is going down, especially on...
Read moreI took a friend visiting from another state on this cruise, and it was one of the highlights of her visit to Wisconsin. I parked in the Upper Dells parking lot, not the one by The Vue, and we received excellent advice and instructions on taking the River Walk to the place where the ferry would embark. The woman in the kiosk was helpful, friendly, and enthusiastic. We both had done the River Walk on my friend's previous visit two years ago, but neither of us, and I am a local, had taken the Sunset Dinner Cruise. We boarded on-time with clear instructions being given in advance about seating. The entire trip was exquisite with well-timed happy-hour drinks with salads served on-board. Upon disembarking at Witches' Gulch, we enjoyed a beautiful, serene, and green tiki lit walk. As we returned to the ferry, a crew with a setup for what they had grilled and heated were lined up on the deck. The line was quick and efficient with everyone taking whatever portion they wished of cooked corn, carrots, rolls, and butter, with staff placing a grilled steak and four shrimp on each plate. We found the meal more than enough. We especially enjoyed the steaks, done to to perfection at medium, with just the right amount of pink. Throughout the cruise, the staff were attentive to the needs of the passengers and offered excellent service. I offer them high praise. The music was provided by John Hamilton and also was excellent. The songs were appropriate for being on water and enjoying the scenery and cruise. Important to note: We were able to carry on conversations in normal voices while still listenting to the performer. It was not too loud nor too soft. We took this cruise in mid-June and the boat was not full. I hope others are kind and patient if booking a tour during peak season. The crew truly showed us their care for and excellent service to passengers. I highly recommend this tour. I am attaching photos from our...
Read moreI would give this experience a 5 star, however, it was raining while we were on the sunset dinner cruise. So, since it was raining, we really couldn't see through the plastic curtain like sheets that they put up to protect everyone from getting wet. I do appreciate that, otherwise the trip would have been completely miserable. Although, it was very difficult to see through it to see the views. Unless you were by a seam, you could look out that, but then you were most likely getting rained on. The food was okay. Nothing to rave about. The filet was tough but okay. Everyone's steak was cooked to medium or well. You had no say in how you wanted your meat. We got our 4 grilled shrimps on a skewer. Okay, that's fine. But they were grilled with the shells on and they were over cooked. I've never ever had grilled shrimp with the shells on in my entire life. And since the entire day rained, we never got to see the sunset. Now don't get me wrong. I'm not blaming the company for this at all. It's out of their control. But the food could have been a bit better, not over cooked. I would go on it again. But just hope that we picked a better day. Because rain or shine, they're taking you. What pictures I did get, were kind of difficult because my back was towards the view so I wouldn't get wet from the rain. And as you can see in the pictures, you can see the tarp like covers they had to help us from but...
