Can't say I'm a fan of this place. The first thing I noticed when visiting was that the service was barely sub par. I requested specific seating so that my party could find me more easily. The reason being that the place I requested was for parties of six or more, which I guess is in their right but this is the first time I've ever been denied a seating request in any Mexican restaurant I've been to in my life.
Service from that point on was also not sincere. I only asked for water and was not offered a single refill in the time I was there, which was approximately 50 to 60 minutes. A large portion of time waiting was spent on waiting for the check.
This could be an outlier for me specifically since I use t mobile and that has spotty coverage in Wisconsin but I could not get reception in that building. I'm not docking points for that, but what I am docking points for is that I asked for the password for their wifi and they said that they both did not know and would not find out for me.
Moving on to the food the first thing I noticed was that chips and salsa were not complimentary so I decided to order some with queso dip. That was a huge mistake. My gf described them as stale but im not sure what to call them. They were very large, tough to bite, not so flavorful corn chips and the amount you got I would say is about half of what you would normally get at a free basket anywhere else. They provided a red sauce which I'm not sure if it was supposed to be salsa or something else but regardless it was very watery. It was somewhat spicy which I can appreciate but without flavor to go with it there's not much point to using it.
I ordered combination fajitas which I know is very basic but because of all the above I was wanting to play it very safe. Unfortunately this was also a letdown. I don't know how you can mess up fajitas but the steak provided was very dry and without any flavor. The shrimp was given with the tail shells still on so that made the process a bit more tedious, and the chicken was just unremarkable. The portions were also noticeably less than usual fajitas but I paid about $4 more than what I'm used to paying. The chips, fajitas, and a single taco added up to about $35. You could get so much more from any other restaurant by comparison.
I'm normally not one to leave negative reviews and I swear I'm not normally picky about food or service but everything about this place from start to finish was unpleasant for me.
To try and help out some people looking for Mexican something I can recommend as an alternative is Jose's. It's a little on the outskirts of the dells but it's much more up...

Title: Overpriced and Underwhelming - A Disappointing Experience
Review:
My family and a friends daughter visited this restaurant expecting a great dining experience, why not? The place looks great and inviting. We were extremely disappointed with both the food and the service.
Among the few Mexican plates, We ordered a cheeseburger, which was priced at around $8 after tax, reminiscent of an 89 cent gas station burger in terms of quality. Also it was like a kids meal at an adult full price plate at the time. It lacked basic accompaniments like lettuce, tomato, and onion. The accompanying fries were minimal and tasted dry.
Our experience worsened when we tried to address our concerns. Instead of understanding or rectifying the situation, we were met with hostility. Things escalated, I'm not used to being treated like that. When we refused to pay for the unsatisfactory meal, the owner threatened us with police involvement, claiming close ties with local law enforcement.
Moreover, the overall quality and authenticity of the food were highly questionable. As authentic as a three dollar bill! This place might deceive those unfamiliar with authentic Mexican cuisine, but for anyone with knowledge of the real deal, it's a clear tourist trap.
The incident not only spoiled our evening but also affected our friend's daughter who fell ill afterwards she just ate one taco! We did partially eat what was on our plates. However did not get to enjoy the other meals and that evening.
Despite our efforts to make the following day better, the experience left a lasting negative impression having to stay near the hotel bathroom as my friends daughter was vomiting during the day. Urgh!
We have since decided as a family, along with our friends, to never visit this establishment again.
Its inviting appearance is misleading, a facade hiding poor quality food and service. I caution potential visitors to think twice before...
Read moreWe just tried this place for the first time as someone told us they had more a frita on the menu, and we were so excited to try it! I wish I could say we had a good experience, but it definitely wasn't. My wife ordered the mojarra frita (a whole tilapia) We paid extra for the one that had a "seafood mix" served on top. But when it came, we wondered where in the world the seafood was? It can only be described as crumbs of seafood, and the sauce on it was awful. The FISH was unseasoned and rubbery. I asked for a special of the day sope which is home made tortilla toasted with your choice of meat. Well they deep fried my home made tortilla( gross )no flavor either. So yes, I have a bite from my sope and then returned it to the kitchen because it was not good. The margarita alas rocas tasted like lemonade with little bit of tequila( and the server forgot to bring it to us, we had to ask for it after 15 minutes passed) so I asked for a frozen one (which was a little better) . So we ask for the bill and they didn't take my sope from the Bill after I had returned it. (The lady at the register said this was because I ate a piece of it) then so disrespectfully, she asked the server: oh, is this the guy who returned the margarita? (and made a funny laughing face). She also made excuses for the food quality, saying it was too busy to cook the sope the way it was supposed to be. Hard to believe they would treat a customer this way! Our Bill was $76.00+. We dine our once per week. Do the math. Are We so unimportant, that we would be treated this way? We could have found our new favorite restaurant today, but instead found this. This was our first time and last time coming here. It's so sad too, because the menu looked so promising and we love finding new places to go! Very...
