Most comfy bed I have ever slept on in a hotel. So, if that's one of your things that's important, you WILL get a good night's sleep in their beds. The beds and bedding were all white and very clean, so that was comforting to me. I was a little bummed, but it doesn't have to do with the resort itself. I'm only adding this in in case someone else read the same ad I had. I had read on one of the Wisconsin Dells sites that this place had three indoor pools, a hot tub and a sauna as well as an outside pool. I'm not sure if I read it wrong or what. Maybe it just was written weird. But it has one indoor pool in the main building. It was nice and clean. The hot tub isn't super hot. So it's not great for easing tired muscles, but it is perfect for people with like high blood pressure or even younger kids. It was more like bathwater. Still, it had a lot of chlorine and appeared very clean. Now the pool itself was a great temperature, but they do need to redo the pool liner, because it's ripped in a bunch of spots. It made me feel kind of gross, but I got over it, because the pool really did look very clean and the floor of the area was also probably the cleanest I've ever seen. I have no idea if there is actually a sauna, but I didn't find one. The towels in the pool weren't well stocked. It seems like they could just fill up the rack and check in regularly. The bathrooms are super super small, but they were very clean. Everything was super clean actually. The women at the front desk were amazingly friendly. I don't think I've ever seen desk people that actually seem happy to be there and happy to help you, but these women were. They don't have toothbrushes like you can find at other hotels, but they are available in the vending machine. Bring your own water and soda, because the vending machine drinks are like $2.50 each. Bring your own shampoo, the bottles they provide aren't enough for everyone. Bring your own garbage bag for laundry. I know they have laundry machines there, but they don't have laundry bags in the room like most places. It's a super easy and beautiful walk into town. The location is perfect. When I was looking at other places to stay near town and walking by, they were pretty dilapidated looking and I would have been grossed out staying in them. Some of the motels had people folding laundry in a garage with the door open and it was disgusting! I'm so glad I didn't choose those hotels. This is easily the nicest hotel within walking distance of downtown that I saw. Overall, it was a great place to stay. Still, a few extra amenities would have made this even more special. Lastly, when I was sitting on my first floor patio at night, I looked up and a bat flew into a wall under one of the balconies. I was in room 1114 and it was the balcony just above me to the right when I was facing the river. I hope they address that issue humanely. Bats don't bother me and I know that kind of thing can happen, but if a child were to see that, I imagine it would make for a scary stay. The place is still infinitely better than the other downtown places to stay. Also, we got a two queen room with a patio. I asked for first floor and I got exactly what I wanted, even the special request. That made me so happy! I should also point out that the view of the river and the size of our room were perfect. The price was perfect for that. Actually, they could have charged probably another 50 bucks and easily gotten away with it. I've spent more money at other hotels in boring areas of the country with a view of a wall or...
Read moreAlright, to edit my review...commonalities between reviews I have seen, mostly of Building B&C. Hopefully this helps people from needing to read too much. 🔸️Not meeting expectations upon arrival 🔸️Not knowing they'd have to walk across to the main building for ANYTHING - hot tub, vending, ice, service (no phones in rooms), etc. 🔸️Thin walls/loud neighbors, late at night 🔸️Dirty OR just outdated things that have not been taken care of 🔸️Narrow showers 🔸️Not helpful service 🔸️Issue with A/C
The room we stayed in took this experience down for me a lot. When we travel, the air conditioning is something important to us in the heat. It would not stay on for us. We needed to unplug/replug it multiple times to get it going. If you do not expect to be sent out of the nice building to their old motel upon arrival, it is almost a slap in the face in quality comparison, disregarding the view entitrely.
The toilet/handle constantly would run, even after jiggling the handle and it feeling broken as if it would twist around. The sink counter was SO cheap. Looked like itd break if you fell into it. It almost seemed angled down.
The furniture/placement of things were odd and out of place (furniture did not impact my rating). The dresser under the entertainment center was so huge, while the tv was low right above it. It angled downward towards the ground. The soaps in the shower were right in the middle vs the end/out of the way, making the extremely narrow tub even more narrow anyone that isnt extremely small. The curtains would not close entirely either so if there was any light outside as it constantly shines through 2 gaps we continued to try to close.
Extremely thin walls, so could hear anyone talking outside, even at their building D. I could hear someones t.v. running all night our second night in another room (big reason the air shutting off was such an annoyance to drown out the sound).
We did not utilize the pool/hot tub because you had to walk to the other building across the street to get there. It looked nice. There were not very clear signs pointing us to what seemed like the only vending machine (possibly ice as well) in the main building. We had to ask the restaurant host. While most hotels/motels have a vending machine or ice, this place had nothing at their "motel" building B.
One thing about the beds that bothered me is I kept finding black specks in the bed that would smear. No makeup was brought to resemble this from our stay. My only thought was rubbed off makeup, but again...no makeup from us. Attached video because what are these things? I even found some in the other bed, so they weren't from us. They were under the blankets, on the pillows.
Very unfortunate as upon arrival we really thought it did not appear that bad. Overall, would not stay again unless possibly in the main building if it is taken care of more, which it seems like it may be. If returning, we honestly may try another place. It seems odd to me to have an extremely nice building, but then a run down motel style across the street. The value was not worth it. If you leave a review like this, also just expect a slap in the face "thank you we will work on it", which clearly is not being done due to past reviews... I cannot find any positive reviews about their "Motel B". Don't assume because of their responses that it may be fine now. Any positive reviews seem to only be in...
Read moreOur place was definitely lacking a loving hand are caretaker and not worth the $500+ a night that was paid.
Upon arriving we needed to shovel and salt the walkway as this has not been done and it was incredibly slippery.
When we entered the suite there was and remained an overwhelming scent of cleaner, which is nice to know it’s clean but seemed to be coming out of the heat vents to the point it was nauseating.
There were many blind slats missing from each window. In addition the curtains do not cover the windows. This created a real lack of privacy and could see clear thru from across the street.
There is a glass cover missing from the chandelier, and many lightbulbs burnt out throughout the unit.
In the lower level there are floorboards seeping out water.
The master bathroom shower doesn’t drain.
The two above water concerns were mentioned to a maintenance man who just walked into our condo at about 10pm to deliver foosballs we did not request. Major concern that a man just walked into a hotel room of women without request.
We notified him of the blinds, seeping water and shower drain. He tried to blame us on the floor (which was in the hallway, saying it was water from the shower) and then said he was happy to see it wasn’t leaking in the closet anymore. He did offer to come and fix the drain, which we asked he wait to do til the morning as we were headed to bed and would be leaving in the morning (If you are aware of these problems: seeping water and lack of privacy, why would you be allowing guests to stay paying such high rates?!?)
A message was the sent to the hotel to let them know of these issues and our unhappiness. They attempted to call us back around 10 PM at which point we had gone to bed. The message stated that I should call back and request to talk to a supervisor.
When I called back in the morning and asked to talk to a supervisor they told me that it was noted that these issues had already been addressed and I refused service and that I could speak to someone at checkout.
When I went to check out, I was told the exact same thing. I let them know of the timeline of events that occurred the evening before and what we were told by maintenance. I was repeatedly told that they attempted to handle it and put the blame on us. I’m not quite sure how telling us you are aware of the problems, but not offering a solution is attempting to handle the issues.
*Now the property called me, insisting the man who entered our room was the general manager and that *someone called, but they are not sure who it was, because they can’t trace that, had asked for them to come to our room. When I asked the name of the manager to confirm who it was, they told me they can not share that information with me. Why can’t they? Well Because it was not the manager, as he told us he was maintenance.
I am done even trying to solve this and have told them I will share the information to warn women as well as any others from wasting their money on this property. They said thank you, and goodbye.
Absolutely not the kind of property or service that we expected especially...
