I took my seven-year-old here with a playdate with another local mom who had a nine-year-old and the kids loved it. I think they had a lot of unique things that I wasn't really expecting to find in a children's museum. Honestly when I thought Children's Museum I just thought it was going to be a fancy word for a children's play area or indoor playground or something like that. And yes it is basically a child's indoor play area but the things that they had were well beyond my expectations. And I think it was really cool that even the simplest things that you didn't think would be that entertaining kept him occupied for a long time LOL. But there are other things that work really cool and the little extra effort they put in for the special effects for the kids, I thought was very creative. I would definitely like to come back here again and it is very affordable. I purchased a Groupon to do something fun for the kids that was inexpensive but even without the Groupon the prices are very reasonable. The kids did not want to leave but the adults get hungry and we wanted to go someplace nice to sit down. If they have food there I am not sure because we did not eat there but overall I think it's a great place for kids of all ages. well maybe 10 might be to cut off because I cannot see my 11 year old really having that much fun there. The staff made an effort to really go behind the kids and clean up any mess that was made once the children ransacked it and moved on to the next section. The only thing that was a little weird as the sign says parking is on the top floor of the parking garage but when you get to the top for the parking garage it says Advocate employees only so we wasn't sure we were parking in the right space because those two signs were conflicting. Nothing happened to our car but that would have been helpful to be more clear and understanding if you were in the right area are not...
Read moreDisappointment with Current Museum Condition
Id like to express my disappointment with the current condition of the Children's Museum. As a valued annual member, I expect the museum to be a well-maintained and engaging environment for children. Unfortunately, during a recent visit, I encountered several issues that significantly impacted our experience: Safety Concerns: The carpeting at the first station was frayed, on both sides posing a potential tripping hazard for children. Malfunctioning Exhibits: The police car exhibit was non-functional, with all lights turned off. Inoperable Exhibits: The overhead kite exhibit was not operating, and several other stations missing the interactive elements. These issues not only diminish the overall experience but also raise concerns about the museum's commitment to maintaining a safe and engaging environment for its young visitors. I understand that maintaining a museum can be challenging, but I believe that the current condition does not meet the standards expected by members who pay annual fees. I urge the museum to address these issues promptly and prioritize the upkeep and maintenance of...
Read moreI went with my 4 year old son on a school field trip. A nice lady came on the bus beforehand and explained the rules clearly and told us to go have fun. We went in and there was a nice big area to hang our jackets up. There were so many fun activities to do and my son loved every second. The activities were very scientific based which was wonderful because I could actually teach him while we were playing. He really enjoyed this sand topography pit that they had. There was also some water activities. We ventured upstairs and went to this cool art center where there was so many options to do. They also had a dress up section, kitchen, play house, construction, and so much more. We also on our way out bought a bunch of learning toys and some art projects. I think we're going to go back and get a family membership because we enjoyed it so much. I definitely could let the kids play there and learn for hours. 100% would recommend! Also, all the employees were very...
