I want to like Home Depot more than I actually do. I love hardware stores - and Home Depot has a TON of options. They've got a great selection of power tools and quite a variety of most other items that you need for that Saturday DIY project. I personally use the Home Depot App when I'm in the store. It's got a great locating function that tells you what isle and bay a certain item is in. The staff is generally helpful, however it can be hit/miss depending on who you talk with. During my last trip, an employee helped me locate an obscure item very quickly, which impressed me. Other times it has been impossible to flag someone down. If you're looking for something specific, I'd recommend you search online before going to the store. There is a search function that allows you to lookup what is in a particular store that you specify. I've save a lot of time with that! You can also order items online and have them shipped to the store for free.
In multiple experiences, the online ordering process is more cumbersome that just going into the store to find/buy your products. Recently when I was in, I ended up needing a different item that what I had ordered for the in-store pickup. It took about 10 minutes to process a return for an item that I hadn't even picked up. Yikes! I don't recommend it unless you have are grabbing a whole slew of items.
Lumber, something I've picked up there routinely, is really hit and miss. Bring some gloves and plan to look through the pile to find the straight boards without knots. You can find it, but it'll take a bit of effort!
Prices are average and the staff is friendly enough. I'd give it four stars except how bad the online ordering pickup has been for me. Overall, I like the app and it's helpfulness, but I can't get past the online ordering issues. Home Depot is a decent option, but I'm not sure if it is any better than it's major...

I looked at the website again, it was marked "Delivered". So, I called Customer Service. First lady I talked to, she was VERY UNHELPFUL. She placed me on hold to contact manufacturer then got back on the phone and said "I can't get ahold of the manufacturer, but maybe it was send a day or two after the table." Well, I told her, I need more solid information than "may or maybe not" and where did you get that information (not able to answer this and got frustrated). The uncertainty in her voice does not give me confidence. I was looking for an answer but I did not get it. With an attitude, she transferred me to the manufacturer to hold to talk to them instead with a "You go ahead and talk to them". I could not get ahold of the manufacturer - I was not given a number to call them. So, I called Customer Service again, it was picked up and I was hang up on. I called again. Third time, I was able to talk to somebody. I can only hear every other words she said. She was having technical issues. She was supposed to find more information for me but she came up with -- likely they are out of stock. And, for some reason, I was transferred to UPS. When she transferred me to UPS, the lady on the other line did not know whats going on and gave me the same information that I already know. She was nicer though. More than an hour later (between UPS and Home Depot), I called again. The next lady was able to figure out that my outdoor furniture will be separately send, and no I will not see a secondary tracking number in the home depot website. She gave tracking numbers so it sounds promising. SO FRUSTRATING. I SPENT MORE THAN AN HOUR ON THIS. I WANT TO RETURN IT. I WILL NEED THE WHOLE SET...
Read moreBought 10 gallons of premium Behr exterior paint to the tune of well over $300. After beginning to paint the house I discovered that the dried color was really different than the swatch. The color we picked was a grayish green. Once painted and dried it appeared a much lighter minty blue green color (like toothpaste) with no grey undertone. The colors were similar but the essence was not the same. I called and explained to customer service what the issue was and asked if I could bring the paint back and choose another color. The customer service representative told me that Paint is not returnable, but if I wanted to bring the paint in, they would be willing to make sure they hadn’t made a formulation mistake. I appreciated the offer but I told him that I lived almost an hour away so if I brought the paint back I was looking for an assurance that I would be leaving with a paint color I wanted. I told him my fear was they would take a look at the paint and say “sorry we didn’t make a mistake” and have no explanation for the drastic difference in color and I would have then made TWO hour and a half long round trips for paint I wasn’t satisfied with. I told him I completely understood that under normal circumstances paint should not be returnable, but in this instance, the color was so different than the swatch— if it was determined that the paint was formulated correctly— I should be able to exchange for a different color based oh my dissatisfaction with the product. I was told I would have to come in and speak with a manger. I asked to speak to a manager on the phone as, once again, I live almost an hour away. Was put on hold for a long time and then told that they couldn’t find any managers and one would call me back. It’s been over three hours and nobody has called me back. I’m on a very tight time crunch to paint this house and I’m extremely frustrated with this...
