Gold Rush Burgers — Restaurant in Yreka

In 2011 Gold Rush Burger located in Yreka California actually had super good quality food. Back then I would have rated it 5 stars but as of lately I wouldn't even give it a half star.

First off the owner of the restaurant is extremely rude, insulting customers as they come in about their appearance. On at least 3 different occasions she has insulted my boyfriend for not shaving and also insulting my tattoos. We pushed this aside because they had great quality food and we thought it was worth dealing with.

Since 2011 their food quality has gone down hill. Last time we went in we ordered Swiss Mushroom burgers, a Jalapeno Pepper Jack Burger, and a BBQ Pork sandwich with fries, onion rings and drinks. The Swiss Burgers were extremely dry and over cooked. The Swiss Burgers and the Jalapeno Burger were extremely thin, thinner than McDonalds and that says a lot. Last the Pork sandwich. The bread was the only warm part of the sandwich. The pork was cold as if it sat on the counter for hours. It was really sweet and dry- no flavor other than pure sugar.

I would say that the quality of the food I might have been able to handle if the prices were not so high. The Swiss Mushrooms were about $7, the Jalapeno Burger was $9 and the COLD Pork sandwich was $10 and they forgot to add the sides to the pork sandwich so my boyfriend split his with me in order to compensate. Also the cashier was new so she messed up our order and charged us for a large fry separately. Not worth your money or time!

Three days ago I posted this review (above) and now I would like to give you an update. Four hours after I ate the pork sandwich I got FOOD POISONING and have been suffering from that for the last 3 days. My feelings towards this restaurant are even stronger now due to my illness and its inconvenience. I would highly recommend you do not go here to eat because of the lack of proper food maintenance. I will never eat here again nor will my family. I am extremely stressed that this illness will cost me more inconveniences because of how long it has lasted. Once again please do not eat here unless you are willing to take the risk and if you are like me and get food poisoning make sure you drink plenty of fluids as well as to try to get plenty of rest!!! I did Door dash today. Ordered a Hawaiian burger. It says it comes with teriyaki sauce and pineapple and cheese. I got a half burger half pineapple thing no teriyaki sauce! It had lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, onions, thousand island sauce? So I paid $9.95 for this after door dash fees $14.95 I called store to let them know they made a mistake. Can i get my money back or a new burger? The cook Tyler said "I made it how you said" I told him I have the receipt it just says hawiian burger add cheese. He not only lied about his mistake, was rude, told me to call door dash (they did their job) they delivered. You would think a local store would say. FOOD 3/5 - my dad enjoyed his burger and the fries/tots were good. issues were that mom had mostly burnt onion rings in her order and i ordered a black bean veggie burger that was overcooked and too hard to eat (although i understand that maybe they're not used to cooking this item so it doesn't reflect much on their restaurant as a whole).
