I recently had an extremely disappointing experience at Hard Rock Cafe in Yerevan, and I feel compelled to share it to caution others. Our visit was marred by serious issues related to food safety, poor service, and language barriers that made addressing our concerns almost impossible.
Food Safety Concerns: We had leftovers that were meant to be packed up, but shockingly, it seemed as though some of the food was eaten by the staff before being boxed and given back to us! To make things worse, when we received our food at the table, it was ice cold—clearly forgotten for an extended period. I’ve never encountered such mishandling in a reputable restaurant, and it raises major health and safety red flags.
Lack of Communication: The staff had limited proficiency in English, making it incredibly difficult to communicate our issues. When we tried to express concerns about the cold food and strange handling of our leftovers, it felt like we were getting nowhere. There was no manager available to address our complaints, leaving us without any way to resolve things at the moment.
Poor Service Response: Instead of acknowledging these serious issues, the restaurant seemed more focused on insisting that their service was flawless. I’ve dined at Hard Rock Cafes worldwide and never experienced such poor treatment. This location seems to rest on its brand name without delivering the expected standards of quality and service.
Unfortunately, this experience fell far short of expectations, and I would caution anyone planning a visit to reconsider. There are many wonderful restaurants in Yerevan that offer quality food and service; Hard Rock Cafe Yerevan, unfortunately, is not...
Read moreIt was a Hard Rock Cafe with fun memorabilia and music. The service, however, was horrible. It was the worst experience I’ve had in Yerevan. There was no hostess to greet guests; I had to go up to a server to ask for a table. Apparently, most of the restaurant was reserved) although most tables were empty) but there were four tables left around the parameter, and I was allowed to sit at one of them. All servers, hostesses, etc., were hanging out near the bar talking to each other. My back was to them. After I ordered, one of the servers started oinking and the rest of them were laughing. I was so uncomfortable I just ate my food and read on my phone.
When a different server came to clean up my dishes, I asked for the check and it was promptly delivered. I already had money out and the server took my bill and cash. I then noticed all the servers who were at the bar, ran to the back/kitchen. I waited over 10 minutes for my change. My original server came back (perhaps he was on a break?) and asked if I wanted anything else, and I explained that I had given money for my bill but had not received my change.
He went to look for my bill and change; it was sitting on the bar top. Apparently, someone cashed out my check, left it and my change on the bar, and then ran back to the kitchen with the other servers. My server did apologize, but it was a very disrespectful experience. I would hope that if a manager had been present, they would not have allowed guests to be treated in this manner.
I would not recommend going to this establishment, and I will not go back when I’m in Yerevan. There is better food and better service at local...
Read moreWe were genuinely excited when Hard Rock Cafe first opened in Yerevan. It quickly became a favorite spot; an escape that reminded us of North America. In the beginning, the food was great, the service was top-notch, and we would go often. It felt like a gem in the heart of the city.
Sadly, over the past couple of years, things have steadily declined. This was the third time in a row where the service was unbearable.
Last time, we said we wouldn't be back for dinner. But the great live music keeps pulling us in. Tonight's visit proved that we should have stuck to that decision. Our food arrived cold after a near-hour wait. The beers took almost as long and were brought out incorrectly three times in a row before finally getting it right on the fourth.
To make matters worse, we were overcharged for food that never even came. And the final insult: we had a large salad, most of which was left over. We asked for it to be packed up, but it never came back. When we asked about it, we were told it had been thrown out because, according to them, we never asked for it to be wrapped up. It felt like we were being gaslit.
What started as one of the city's most exciting spots has become one of the most disappointing. We won't be returning, and we won't be recommending it to anyone. It's a shame, especially because the concerts and performers are...
