Arm Hostel — Hotel in Yerevan

I'm staying here in Arm Hostel from May 28, 2017 - June 8, 2017 in their Dormitory Room. ||Finding this Hostel is Hard because there is No sign outside the entrance (Thanks to the kind old Lady outside that helped me find it) ||It was located @ 5th Floor of the Building (keep in mind that there's No elevator in here) it means you have to go up & down if you need something outside (consider it as your exercise) ||Hostel is Clean, neat & tidy. Looks Brand new. You'll feel that their room price is worth the pay & stay. ||About the service : ||Wifi : they have wifi but believe me it's not stable. You'll even encounter high Lag or in short, Poor Connection. (Not recommended for guests who loves to play mobile games before going to sleep after their tours) ||Service : i'll give a good rate for the receptionist named Lily & their Lady Housekeeper ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ very friendly, helpful & smiley face. The kind of persons/staff you expect from hospitality industry. If you need anything/something that they can do, they'll surely attend to it. ||Back to a terrible issue, ||My Main concern here is that they have an arrogant & unprofessional manager (george) who keeps on coming inside & out of our room just to smoke in the balcony (knowing there's a lot of open room & balcony or he can go down to smoke) the whole time of my stay here. Not a day he will miss smoking in our room balcony.||He will also drink (alcoholic drinks) in his duty. Wow right? How professionalism at its best.||To mention, he will also play around in the whole hostel, running & messing up the room (our room where I stay). Just Like a kid as if there's no guests seeing him. ||And when you tell him your concerns about him. He'll just say, |He's the MANAGER. (Slow clap)||Yes, arrogant & unprofessional manager who doesn't respect his work...

The hostel's cleanliness leaves much to be desired, with the mattresses and toilets being particularly neglected. A surprising and inconvenient aspect is the absence of lockers, necessitating the cumbersome process of storing and retrieving personal belongings from the staff room repeatedly. Additionally, the shower facilities are cramped and poorly designed, lacking even basic amenities such as hooks for hanging clothes.

Furthermore, the air conditioning units appear to be non-functional, which was the explanation provided to me.

The service at the reception is also subpar; the attendant guy exhibits unprofessional behavior, mistaking rudeness and unsolicited comments on guests' appearances for charm. This behavior is especially discomforting as it targets female guests.

The hostel's location on the 5th floor without elevator access poses a significant challenge, making the ascent to the rooms a daunting and unwelcome task.

On a positive note, the hostel's pricing and central location are commendable attributes.

Note that the entrance to the hostel has been renovated, resulting in a disparity between its current appearance and the images provided online. This could lead to some confusion when trying to locate the establishment.

Overall, while the hostel's affordability and prime location are advantageous, these benefits are overshadowed by the numerous drawbacks that impact the overall...

I stayed at this hostel last week, management is accomodating and location is great but I would not recommend this place to a friend and think the rating is too high.

Do NOT take the shared taxi to Tbilisi recommended/arranged by the hostel. It was supposed to leave at 7 but we drove around town weirdly dropping things off and picking things up until 8, no one could speak English to explain what was going on, the driver even changed and the people around made me very uncomfortable. Then the second driver even asked me for more money although I had already paid 8000 (1000 more than the marshrutkas). On the way to Tbilisi the driver drove even more chaotically than any marshrutkas drivers and we literally almost got into a few wrecks (not being dramatic, we were stopped to talk to one of the drivers we almost ran into). Then when we got to Tbilisi the driver tried to drop me off way before the spot that was agreed on. I wish I could have gotten my money back for this somehow, it was a HUGE rip off. I wanted to leave the car several times and try my best to request a new ride in the middle of no where but wasn't sure which was...
